I went with a couple of friends in June, during world cup. The atmosphere is good as you feel you are in a big country estancia, the quality of the meat consumed was hit and miss a bit, however there was large quantities and alternatives to choose from. The service was good but not exceptional. The range of wines and... More

Taken by residents of Porto Alegre to this barn of a restaurant. The show was an unexpected bonus, whilst not true gaucho it was very entertaining. The salad bar was extensive and the meat not so because of its high quality. The Picanha I had was the best meat of its type, in terms of taste and tenderness, that I... More

The restaurant promises an exceptional experience on the traditions of Rio Grande do Sul and an outstanding barbacue. Wellll...none of those were adequate. The show is not really very good. I have seem gaucho's performance and dance far better than these. And the barbacue (churrasco) is very limited in the types of cuts available and also on its quality! The... More

This place had it all! Good Churrasco food, excellent ambience, interesting local dancing and a Gaucho who swung his boleadoras above his head and by his body in dizzying style. The long barn-like building had shops at the entrance where tourist items could be bought, and Mate tea sampled. A good afternoon's meal and entertainment.

Well, I spent some time working in Porto Alegre so I got to know the "headquarters" of every single churrascaria I already ate in Sao Paulo. To my great deception, Fogo de Chao's in Porto Alegre is quite bad, specially the buffet with nothing to choose. I tried something typical from the region... Galpao Crioulo and it was great! Really... More

We've been there to enjoy the typical "churrasco gaúcho" (the most traditional dish in the South of Brasil) as well as to see one of those typical as well performance show (dance and so on). By the end of the day, the food is great, the incidental live music is great but we would expect more from the show mostly... More

Superior meat quality and variety. Excellent ambience (although popular and a bit noisy). Go for the Caipirinha made with Cachaça Artesanal

That is not a gastronomic paradise and I assume you can eat a better traditional gaucho food in at least hundreds of other establishments by Porto Alegre. But, despite the fact the food is not that good, the lively atmosphere and the authentic gaucho show available worth the meal. To me, it is highly recommended for tourists, not for locals.... More

We went there twice. The first time we did not know what it was all about and came away feeling like stuffed turkeys. We took too much salad and wanted to taste all the different kinds of meat they serve. The second time around we did not come for the salad and was a little more selective for the meat... More

A coworker took me to this place, food is great, salad bar is a bit limited but it has other hot meals that you can have, meat cuts are excellent and then service is great, since this place tries to emulate the style of the Brazilian Gauchos, waiters are dressed in typical gauchos clothing and the restaurant is made like...
