Be outside.Inside the noise is terrible. After 8PM long waiting time to get a table. I've been there several times.

Awesome Steak! Packed with locals, busy and noisey. Delicious gratis sausages to snack before ordering. I strongly recommend this place!

Picanha w/ broccoli rice and probably the best farofa I had during my stay in Brazil. A little banana in farofa makes all the difference, so delishhhh!!!! i HIGHLY recommend this spot!

Downtown Gavea, everyone loves this place! It's very lively and the food is great! You can stay here hours on end with your friends and have a great time. Definitely order many Chopp's, have a couple of linguiça's and then your Picanha with arroz de brocoles and farofa com ovo e banana!

If you are staying in the Gavea area then this is your local. The best place to stop for a beer & linguiça (Brazilian sausage) after work with your friends. O Braseiro da Gavea is an iconic establishment in the most social corner of Gavea. Guaranteed to have familiar faces having a beer at any moment, but also a sure... More

We had been to this restaurant many times before. And we like to come back every time we are in Rio. As before we were served very good food. Had Bolhinos do Bacalhau and the mixed grill. Very tasty meal. The portions are huge. I had to take home half of the food for lunch the next day. Service is... More

This place is authentic, local, reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The sausage was some of the best I ever had. And the steak was incredible tender for the cut that it was. The food in Rio (in my humble opinion) is mediocre at best. It doesn't compare to some of the other cities in BA (i.e., Buenos Aires or Lima).... More

Been to the restaurant during the carnival period and even though the huge crowd and people waiting outside it didn't disappoint. The meat we had (picanha and salsicha) was nicely cooked and was one of the best I have had. Also the typical side dishes were great: broccoli rice, beans, farofa. Outside this place people do usually gather for some... More

We arrived at Braseiro around 2 pm, and it took 1 hour and a half to find us a table for 6. After the really long wait, the unbelievable meat (picanha) and sides were worth it, and very quick to arrive. Delicious! I'd just recommend getting there early.

The place is packed with locals, especially on weekends. We had picanha and salad, which were very good. The dishes that other people were having looked all delicious. If you're looking for a restaurant where the locals would go, this is the place. Sadly, we found this restaurant towards the end of our stay in Rio, otherwise, we would have... More
