Got tried Gula Gula because it's in our Lonely Planet guidebook AND it had good reviews on TA. We went around 2pm on a Saturday and though the restaurant was full, we were lucky that a table had just opened up at their al fresco area. We weren't that hungry so we ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and... More

My friend and I ate here based on a recommendations from someone at the hostel we stayed at around the corner. This restaurant is tucked away and easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. It is a cute and quaint atmosphere with patio seating. The service was great and we had not complaints. I had an Asian inspired... More

Gula Gula serves their beer and cold beverages in iced buckets. When summers are boiling hot in Rio, you know your beers will be perfectly chilled here. The location of this spot is in a historic house that has been converted into this restaurant. The garden patio, my favourite place had a simple wall fountain that added to the decor... More

We discovered this delightful little cafe/restaurant on our first day and returned 3/4 times. They do a quiche/salad combo which is fantastic value for money (the green salad and Caesar salad are both great options). Check out the quiche of the day first but if not to your taste, can't go far wrong with the onion pie - heaven

We visited another location near business centre. All people from banks went there! Short line-up - but it's worth it! Great palm-heart/brie and quinoa salads, black bean soup, quiche and amazing green fresh juices! Best place in Rio on a budget!

While waiting for a table to become available, we ordered a bottled of sparking wine. It wasn't available. Then we chose another one: sold out. Then another one... Nothing. We ended up having the only one available. Silverware was dirty and waiter did not seem to care. I had to change them myself, getting a set from another table. Appetizers... More

This place offers a good combination of good food and value...all three of us had salted steak with crazy rice (delicious signature dish of rice, bacon etc) and salads. everythjng was beautifully prepared. The service was a bit lazy and the cocktails poorly made but, overall,it was a great night out in a good venue offering food value for money.

It's a traditional and well known restaurant chain at Rio. this unit is located in a big house with external area tables, really close to the beach. But in summer, one would rather stay in the internal saloon because of the air conditioned. They serve good salads, pies and grilled food. it's a simple, light but tasteful food. the only... More

This restaurant was a few blocks from where my family and I stayed. We passed by a bunch of times and decided to try it out during our last night in Rio. I had the tenderloin steak with the noisette (fried mashed potato balls) which I enjoyed a little too much, ended up ordering more of those. But the star... More
