Simply the best

I am a bit of a traveller and you get here one of my world favourite. I cannot go in Rio without a lunch here and I am never disappointed.... This time the big change was my 8 months old son and the staff made their best to accommodate us with the most handy table for us... The rest of... read more

Fusion food, excellent dinner! An excellent dinner dishes that represent a harmonious blend of Moroccan cuisine, Brazilian (tropical) with some European notes .. the decor is decidedly exotic and it is successful, the service can be good or be poor as the filling density ... A citrus capirinia test

I have come to Zaza twice on both trips to Rio and this place is a must go to!! The food is the best I've had while in Brazil and the atmosphere is fun and relaxing! On each visit I came with self proclaimed "food critics" and both times they were in food heaven!! I've heard that the price is... More

As soon as we entered Zaza we knew we found a magical spot. We hadn't heard of it before and just stumbled upon it as we where on our way to beach. First time we were there we got seated on the second floor, there you sit on low couches - very cosy. The other times we sat outside which... More

Nice food even though a bit expensive for lunch (same menu as for dinner). Interesting menu with some dishes you probably only find here. The restaurant is situated in a noisy corner and it´s disturbing after a while if you sit outside.

The place is nice, original, open, in Ipanema and close to the beach, but completely overrated! From the service side first, we had the feeling that the only interesting thing was the money. It was lunch time, we were two, but even though we had to wait ages, because the lady at the door gave several times a table to... More

Hello Jorge, Our Bistro is compound by 09 group tables and 19 couple tables, there for, the waiting usualy is much quicker for couples, if we sit couples on group tables, the group will wait much longer, and we can not do the opposite. We worry about our customers confort. Also, people can order drinks and appetizers while wait. Hope... More

We were able to make a reservation online which was helpful since the restaurant fills up very quickly. The place itself is located a few blocks away from Posto 9 along Ipanema beach. We ordered the tapioca to start and the lamb and red fish for our mains. I absolutely loved all of the interesting flavors that were a part... More

Very attentive staff and top quality food, in an intimate environment. The tropical drinks are also worthy.

I've been many times to Zaza. I have to say, I had very limited expectations cause the place is ranking 1 on lonely planet and I thought it was for tourists. But I loved it! You need to book in advance, especially for the terrace. Their chicken curry is the best of Rio for me!! Place is small, tiny tables,... More

This funky restaurant serves the best food we had in Rio. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, the service perfect and the neighborhood very pleasant. We had the chicken curry and the lamb dish and loved both. The menu is also in English and the ever smiling waitress was very helpful

Staying in Ipanema

Neighborhood Profile
Ipanema
Ipanema is considered Rio's crown jewel. It offers the best view of the sunset from Arpoador and is inspiration for the legendary song, “The Girl from Ipanema.” Ipanema is an upscale area, home to many high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue. The neighbourhood is very rich culturally, housing many art galleries that show contemporary art. There is also a great variety of nightlife in the neighbourhood, which buzzes with many options for every taste.
