Very good that restaurant, nice food and good service. More than I expected. But I missed a Thai beer to drink with the food.
Nam Thai is located two blocks from the beach at Leblon, Rio de Janeiro. Cozy and casual decor. Friendly, but slow service. Had dim sum as an appertizes, which was good. Then spicy (and famous) thai prawn soup, which was totally disappointing: it lacked flavours, key ingredients (like lemon grass); tasted like water. Shared two main courses; the chicken curry... More
Maybe I had too high expectations before getting there. We were 3 couples, and the check came above 1000 reais, service without wine.... So I found it way too expensive for the cost of what we had served. Aoart of that the portions are too small, so its definetely not for big guys.... Yes, the food is good, once you... More
Nice Thai restaurant, located just a few blocks from my hotel. The food was really great (and spicy!). I ordered a duck and my wife fish. The service was great. The lounge is beautiful. Worth the visit if you're looking for a different kind of food.
Very good restaurant. Everybody is kind and the food is amazing. It is a pleasure to eat over there. Besides, the location of the restaurant is very good. I really recommend it!!
Leblon and Ipanema are full of restaurants but this place is rather special. The relaxed atmosphere belies a profound seriousness about the quality of the food, which is unfailingly excellent. Service is also top notch, and having been there with a group of business colleagues, all of whom liked it as much as me, I can say that the menu... More

We got this hotel from Trip Adviser and our hotel placed a resevation as it was a public holiday. Previously in Brazil we had tended to eat lots of meat or Italian so this made a nice change. Food was very good. Service very friendly. Cost around £55 for starters and main courses with water and a bottle of wine.... More
Over the years it has been a struggle for me to find good Thai food in Latin America. And, believe me, I try. The latest attempt took place yesterday in Rio de Janeiro by visiting Nam Thai. It is located in Leblon, a neighborhood known for multiple restaurant options. The service was superb, with very attentive waiters serving our table.... More
We were really tired of typical rice and beans were had been eating and were looking for something interesting. Lots of great reviews of this restaurant but we wished it was a bit more unique. Service was fine but we found the food a bit ordinary.
