Are you into portuguese cod cuisine and such served in a very fancy environment? This is your place. To me, the whole thing is for business purpose or cod addicts. Awesome if company pays for it, otherwise, stay away.

TOtally worth experience if you are into food. But get your wallet prepared: it is expensive. But i must say: every penny is worth it!
Very upscale restaurant. Dress up. The menu is Portuguese. Try any of the codfish variations. Food is a little heavy in the Summer. The Portuguese desserts are sweet and egg based. Once in a lifetime experience. Expensive.

This was recommended to us as an old Rio classic restaurant serving the highest quality Portuguese cuisine. Old, yes. Classic-I hope not. Light snacks $25-$40. Main courses $50-$80. Local vine $100. And nothing special for this money!!! Deserts looks like horrible. Service is very intrusive.
I am a well travelled foodie who was excited to visit this restaurant (which the new York times claims is "impeccable") while in Brazil. My experience was anything but impeccable...while the food was ok it was not worth it's price tag but most importantly our all male waitstaff ignored us throughout our meal as we watched other tables able to...

Great example of how to do portugese cuisine. Nice area of Rio. Love the antique style furniture. Had good attention from the waitstaff.
From the outside the restaurant does not impress. As you get inside you find a very cozy saloon and you notice they take care of all details in the decoration.
Although dishes are expensive they are of decent size portions and tasty. Service was very attentive and all waiters, maitre and sommelier very polite.
Wines are a rip off.
