I had a craving for Italian and this was close by. Very nice. Waiters in tuxedos, attentive staff, a special wine storage room, menu in English, etc. It's not cheap but the quality is there. I had the veal ravioli with porcini mushrooms and it was delicious. My hubby had the gnocchi with osco bucco and that was delicious too.... More

The title is not quite fair - the soufflé did rise, but I use it as an analogy for the whole meal. It was a good meal, but not as good as I would expect. Before we went into the restaurant we had a drink. In a 5* hotel with a fancy, well stocked bar, I would expect a good... More

The Windsor Hotel, in Copacabana Beach, has a beautiful italian restaurant , with a great chef Luciano Boseggia , with delicious rissottos, fishes and lobsters, 250 wines in the list, with honest prices, and the food is marvelous. The restaurent is beautiful, with 80 places, and by the quality the price is OK. For 2 persons with an italian wine,... More

I love italian food and have visited many restaurants around the world, including some where the Chef Luciano Boseggia has worked in the past. However, I was very impressed with the menu options here, offering both traditional and inventive preparations. My wife had the slipper lobster ("cavaquinha") risotto with melon ice cream, superb! The service was impecable. Very good wine... More

Italian Chef Luciano Boseggia is a real legend at the Brazilian restaurant scene after commanding, for so many years, the Fasano family's restaurants in São Paulo. Now he is the soul of Alloro Ristorante at the ground floor of Windsor Atlântica Hotel. Alloro is a fantastic place and ideal for special, very special celebrations. Italian food at its best quality,... More

Dined early @ 7:30pm; honored our reservation for corner table. Service great @ outset; a little ragged when it got busy around 8:45 pm. The coberto set up was marvelous--all kinds of great breads, cheese, procuitto--a meal unto itself. We split a scallop risotto 3 ways--really good & they only charged us for one! I had Boar & my wife... More

Fantastic lunch at Alloro Ristorante. I do recommend this place. Octopus with brocolis, mozzarella ravioli and salmon with pistachio. Awesome combination.

This is the new star in Rio de Janeiro. Recently opened in the Windsor Hotel in Copacabana. Excellent food and a pleasant room. Too bad they did not take advantage of the privileged location to get a good view of the beach. Even though they are on the water, there are no views of the beach. Interestingly, the other restaurant... More

Went there for lunch and selected the pre-fixe menu, which for about $50, gives you a 3 course meal with some very nice choices. It is a good way to try a top restaurant in Rio. It is the caliber of what you might find in a 5 star restaurant in NY.
