Random but great find!

After our visit to the favelas, we randomly got dropped off nearby this restaurant...only to find that this place has great entrees, drinks (the best caipirinhia ever) and some great bread to take away!

The excellent and very nicely decorated French bistrô is located in a corner houve on the second floor above the equaly excellent bakery. The Frech owner of the place comutes between Rio and Paris and this probably explains the creative menu of the bistrô. All the dishes we ordered were very well prepared and served, the service was very attentive,... More

I'd heard that the chef who opened the kitchen some years ago had been replaced. I was a little apprehensive until I tried the new menu. Barão is a young chef with a contagiously energetic style that brings a sparkle to Restaurante Guy. I'm still not sure why they say that it's a French place, the menu is International fusion... Pretty much at the back of the fillig station, on the street that is not the most obvious for this kind of establishments, a lovely backery on the ground floor with nice outdoor setting, and the proper restaurant on the first floor. Pleasant setting upstairs with crisp white table cloths and good balanced level of lighting. Great food, I had... More

This is my favorite bakeries "I wanna be a restaurant" in Rio. At the foot of Sacopã hill, located on a pretty residential neighborhhod, its very charming environment at both the bakery and the restaurant (up-stairs) can be the perfect setting for almost everything in terms of food experience: from an afternoon tea to a fine dining, from a quick... The Lagoa district is not a major tourist destination and Cariocas like it that way. Bordering Copacabana and Ipanema it's a short cab to some of the best food you'll get in Rio. The Parisian owner and the chef, Brazilian with International experience, bring a contemporary flair to classic Brazilian dishes. Located in what seems to have been a private... More
