Loved it!

We had dinner here with 4 people and took only appetizers to share. The ceviche is fabulous! We did not have a reservation but got immediately a table. It did get quite warm in the main room as they don't have AC.

extremely hot place (literally), poor service and great food. Service very slow, even if the restaurant wasn't full.

Delicious amazonian fare (sweet-water fish, shrimp, and foods garnished with herbs and plants from the Amazon I'd never had before). Wonderful cocktails and all kinds of cachaça to sample. The terrace overlooking the trees and houses in a valley of Santa Teresa is the place to be. Favorite restaurant in Rio.

Went to this restaurant right next to our hotel for a quick meal. The food were ok slightly overpriced. What really surprised me they did not keep the regular local beer like the Antarctica or Skol. The ones in stock were "artesenal" hand crafted cliche which was exorbitant.

Our lazy lunch was just delicious! The menu is really interesting and we were spoiled for choice. Lovely service and a pretty terrace meant this has been my favourite Rio restaurant.

You'd think from the Rough Guide's description of Espirito Santa that's it in some huge fin de siecle mansion with oodles of space between one table and the next. The reality is that it's situated on a busy street and diners are pretty much cheek by jowl in a relatively small front room. Three air conditioners were manfully trying to... More

we only had cocktails here as it took so long to get these that we didn't want to chance waiting for food. very disorganised service and all the tables around us were getting annoyed. we sat on the terrace as the guide book said it offered a view over the city, there wasn't really any view only trees. we enjoyed... This place has a nice atmosphere, very good food, friendly staff (though no one speaks English). We will definitely come back!

I was in the restaurant almost 10 years ago and it was really nice and cousi, but last week i went back and could notice that it is a bit outdated, the service is not as good as i would expect and the waiters, managers or any one who works there give more attention to the potential Tourists that they... Not sure what to make of our visit to this restaurant. It was highly recommended in the Lonely Planet guide but left us disappointed and unimpressed. The restaurant is located in an attractive building in Santa Teresa but is not very well maintained and to describe it as beautifully restored is a bit of an overstatement. When we entered there... Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
