We stopped here on a hot late afternoon for a snack. While what we had was ok, we thought that the place is slightly overpriced for what it is. However, I have to admit that it has an interesting atmosphere and a nice terrace.

We ordered just one mail meal with fish and coconut. This was good but quite heavy, especially when the weather is so hot. The waitress was friendly and made good recommendations. We first sat next to a table of very noisy Americans and the waitress arranged us another table still on the terrace. We recommend this restaurant but you need... More

Best restaurant in Santa Teresa! dishes from northern Brazil presented in a good way and very tasteful. Menu with different options from starters to desserts and also drinks. Nice atmosphere and price right for what they offer. We wanted to come back the day after but it was closed. The right choice in Santa Teresa and in Rio!

The food here used to be excellent in our first 3 or 4 visits. But the last time it seemed to be cooked by a different chef. The name of the dishes still are the same but it was not as flavorful and seemed to be done with shortcuts. The appetizer was still excellent though. But the special caipirinhas have... More

We enjoyed a late lunch at this great find in the Santa Teresa neighborhood. Everything we ordered was good, and the frigideria de camarao (shrimp in a coconut sauce) really stood out as particularly delicious. The capisanta especial (classe azul) with an Amazonian fruit that started with a t... was refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day! While we... More

this was one of the only restaurants open on the 1st of january and it was a great surprise! There are a lot of things on the menu with many vegetarian options. Everything we ordered was tasty and generously served. It is a bit pricey but totally worth the money. The view is great but it gets really hot on... More

We waited 2 hours for the food. The waiters did not care about the long wait and were even rude when we asked for updates on why it took so long. The order was wrong and the food quality did not justify the price. I will never go again.

hi David, sorry about that wait. Our service is usually speedy and invisible, so I dont know what happened that day. Maybe we were short-staffed... regardless, we agree: 2 hours is unacceptable. We hope you try us again soon, so you can explore our new additions to our menu. Cheers! Cristiano Rio For Partiers More

The drinks are great, the music better and the number of locals hanging out there meant we really felt like part of the Rio nightlife scene rather than tourists

My wife and I stayed at a small hotel right next door to this restaurant, so we thought it might become our place of choice to eat if it rained or we were just too tired to go further. Eating here once was enough, though. We met 2 other people there for dinner the first night in Rio. Appetizers were... More

hi Turneraw, thanks for the kind words on what you liked at Espirito Santa. My main dish recommendation is to stick to the amazonian fish items, as they are all exotic, without being weird (the chef Natacha Fink has been perfecting these recipes to make them crowd pleasers, as amazonian dishes can be very strange to most). As for drinks,... More
