Sad to review this place we have been in 2008. Extremely expensive for a poor quality. May be it was the Carnival season. This is a how-to-loose-customer effective policy. OK, we have arrived late, by 11p.m. but it was not by that fact that the music should be turned off, or the meal was... read more

We really enjoyed this restaurant. Better value than other Amazonian restaurants nearby, and more creative in terms of ingredients and presentation. The fish parcel dish and the chocolate dessert accompanied by Amazonian fruits were both amazing. Service was happy and perfectly accommodating of our non-Portugese speaking background.

I chose the restaurant based on a) convenience (it was next to my hotel which unfortunately did not serve dinner) and b) it came highly recommended in my travel guide. I had been pre-warned that it was very over-priced, but being my first day in Brazil and still working the very good pound to BRD conversion I decided to give... More

We decided to go there after walking the tiled steps up to Santa Teresa. We wanted an early dinner and entered the restaurant at 6pm on a Saturday. It was pretty empty and not only could we choose our seat but we had very nice and attentive service. We decided to sit in the below restaurant which was cute and... More

We returned to Santa Teresa and chose to eat at the Espirito. I think this is probably a good restaurant and perhaps we went on a slow night, but there were just a few niggles. We were handed a degustation menu, and as we were not up to that amount of food we started to leave the table. After saying... More

We stopped here on a hot late afternoon for a snack. While what we had was ok, we thought that the place is slightly overpriced for what it is. However, I have to admit that it has an interesting atmosphere and a nice terrace.

We ordered just one mail meal with fish and coconut. This was good but quite heavy, especially when the weather is so hot. The waitress was friendly and made good recommendations. We first sat next to a table of very noisy Americans and the waitress arranged us another table still on the terrace. We recommend this restaurant but you need... More

Best restaurant in Santa Teresa! dishes from northern Brazil presented in a good way and very tasteful. Menu with different options from starters to desserts and also drinks. Nice atmosphere and price right for what they offer. We wanted to come back the day after but it was closed. The right choice in Santa Teresa and in Rio!

The food here used to be excellent in our first 3 or 4 visits. But the last time it seemed to be cooked by a different chef. The name of the dishes still are the same but it was not as flavorful and seemed to be done with shortcuts. The appetizer was still excellent though. But the special caipirinhas have... More

We enjoyed a late lunch at this great find in the Santa Teresa neighborhood. Everything we ordered was good, and the frigideria de camarao (shrimp in a coconut sauce) really stood out as particularly delicious. The capisanta especial (classe azul) with an Amazonian fruit that started with a t... was refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day! While we... More
