Medíocre food quality and grumpy service

The restaurant is very centrally located and nicely decorated in a rustic/fazenda style. We were a group of three and went there for dinner. The service seemed to be ok, not very nice, but as to be expected in such tourist area. The real disappointment was the food. We had a moqueica and a steak... read more

I'm finishing eating now and the general quality is just OK... Although the place is not full i had to wait 50 min to get served. We ordered a picanha which was too fat for Brazilian standards... So it is a nice location but overpriced for what it is.

Tonight we ate here with 5 people and the place was empty. We ordered Picanha. The portions were so small that we had to order for 6 people and we were only 4! The place is totally overpriced, food is not good. Picanha was not well prepared and poor service. Garoto de Ipanema is maybe touristy, but at least they... More

Three Brazilians wanted to show one German guy a good feijoada. The prices are not cheap so we thought it must be good! We ordered a feijoada and a Bife a milanesa. The feijoada came at first with the wrong choice of meat. Ok, we complained and they quickly changed. The beef that followed was uneatable, hard and cooked too... More

We walked in even though I hate going in empty restaurants. We ordered three of the specials of the day (piranha) and it was more than enough for seven of us. The meat was good, but the sides weren't very interesting. The waiter also never bothered to ask how I wanted the meat, not a good sign. A bit slow.

The "Bobó de Camarão" is amazing, and even the 1 person portion is enough for 2 if you are not to hungry (big eaters). The service is very good, the prices are reasonable and the location is very nice. A good place to go after the hippie street fair that happens many sundays right next to it.

Went here during World Cup for a traditional meal. Half full when we entered. Ordered Feijoada for two which we thought would come fairly quick as it is their speciality and is a stew so not cooked to ordered. Were given a tiny pot of bean stew and a shot glass of lime cocktail. Nothing special but not unpleasant. Then... More

My husband and I ate here during the World Cup and while a little pricier than the touristy places along the beach, there were more locals eating here and we thought it was the best traditional Brazilian meal we had during our 1 month stay. Worth a visit.

great fejoada, friendly staff, cool old timers playing backgammon at the next table, interesting decor.

This is not fine dining, but it was a very good meal and great value. It is basically a neighborhood feijoada restaurant; if you don't like feijoada, don't go. But if you are looking for seemed like an authentic local experience (we were the only gringos there during our visit) with great value, give it a try. We ate inside... More
