Altough it belongs to the hotel, it has a separate entrance and you will find yourself in a beautiful restaurant, a gorgeous " glass" bar with the beach behind it, and the best culinary experts to make you the best fish you ever had... The food is mainly itralian and they make their own fresh pasta and the italian deserts... More

The best hotel in Ipanema and the restaurant is pimp. Priced accordingly but exceptional decor & service. We went to the rooftop bar afterwards which is stunning so try and fit that in as well.

When you walk into the Fasano Hotel it looks like an Arabian nights set with wind breezed flowing curtains though out the lobby hiding its restaurant Fasano Al Mare from view. I was the first to arrive at 12.30pm for my 1pm reservation, Carlos Alberto the Maitre personally served me and I'd ordered every recommendation he made. I've no idea... More

Very fresh seafood and Crudo right in our lobby. Certainly one of the high end restaurants in the whole city.

A glamorous dining room which was promoted as equivalent to Michelin star dining and priced accordingly , but failed on all points. The best that could be said other than the nice dining room was that the staff were pleasant if non professional. The food especially the main course of salt baked fish and the amuse Bouche of tasteless veg... More

During the WORLD CUP I was in the bar..and I decided to have dinner at La Mare . The decoration of the restaurant have a good taste and I liked the quiet and relaxed ambient there. Food ,drinks were decent for the credentials of the Fasano Hotel.Nothing that you have not eaten before.Service was extrictly " normal" In short I... More

Service and food were very poor!!. We were a table of nine. The maitre only showed up at the begginning to place the order then we never saw him again, The first two dishes we ordered (veal milanese and pork) were not available, which is already unacceptable for such a restaurant, Then the complimentary appetizers, soup, were cold and saltless.... The aura of this place has see and be seen all over it... but our group would say this places reputation is unwarranted, save for the people watching. Food was average, wine was expensive and served poorly, service was uncoordinated. Fully priced and under-delivered. Too bad. Was really looking forward to this one...

We went to Fasano restaurant, since we heard that the hotel was the "in" place to stay these days. The food was very mediocre, at best, and some of the dishes were downright badly prepared. I ordered a seafood risotto, which I only ate a bit of. It was pasty, dry, overcooked and flavorless. Although small, the first Caipirinha drink... More

This is a rather expensive restaurant in comparison with other Rio venues. My birthday meal was good BUT they do a trick exactly described in the tourist guide... when a waiter brings extra appetizers and then they charge for them. By the way, the charge for still water as well... not a big deal but it would be good to... More
