I've went to Belmonte several times but this was one of my worst moments. We ordered a Spicy Shrimp and were contemplated with a small and not even a little bit tasty dish... Very disappointing. Lots of money for no reward... Beer ok. Other typical dishes (pasteis and empadas) ok.

I have been in this restaurant to try a new place . Well maybe because world cup , but that place was not nice at all . Millions people ,45 min wait from our requests to getting food ,extra dirty floor . Food was very average ,nothing special .picanha (beef) quite dry and bacalao (cod) with lot of salt .... More

The best Brazilian we've had in Rio, we were recommended to go here by a local and I would definitely recommend to others. Most of the dishes are for sharing which makes the meal great value. Very tasty food, staff were extremely helpful & friendly and the atmosphere was buzzing.

I was in Rio for almost 2 weeks and went to several Belmontes (there are a few in the city). Love everything about it: the food, the decor, the service, the vibe. A totally solid, reliable standby. I miss the bolinhos de bacalhau the most. If there was a Belmonte in Brooklyn, where I live, I'd go there once a... More

Good location, nice atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and the beer flows ice cold. The menu is pretty rich for a bar. The price is fair. A it noisy if you are looking for a quiet meal, but it is an authentic local buteco.

This is one of those typical Rio places where locals hang out. Worth a visit for a beer and get the local feel. The original one is in Flamengo and gets packed on thirsday night. Def worth a visit.

My first visit to Belmonte was with a friend who is a Carioca - the place was very busy ( it usually is) . We were seated right away and I ordered a dark beer. It was wonderful- icy cold and with a sweet taste- my friend was driving- so she drank juice. We ate the little balls made of... More

We went to different restaurants from fancy to more simple but Belmonte overall gave me the best enjoyable evening. It’s looks like a bar where you can eat tapas food. Open setting for just two or a group. Will be busy noisy and not the most romantic restaurant. The reason to go there is the nice atmosphere with a lot... More

No way. if you want to eat some brazilian finger food or an excellent diner, this is the place. we can say that is not a cheap place but the quality makes you think twice and you no doubt return again. Beautiful people between the age of 25 - 40 (I think more than 60%). Usually men outside standed drinking... More

I just spent a good time with a friend at this lovely bar. We had chopp (draught Pilsener) and empadas. It was all great. Great time in a simple and good place...
