Recommend by the Inn. A must try. Local food and drink. The best coffee in Brazil. Fish stew the best ever and the Feijoada excellent. One order easily serves two. An absolute must.

as I love trying the local food, both our guide and the hotel staff recommended feijoada. The desk manager at our hotel sent us to Casa da Feijoada with a note to start us with a Capirinha on him (nice touch, thanks Ipanema Inn). We chose the 3-course meal, asked lots of questions about the food, all patiently answered --... More

You get a lot of food here in the 3 course meal. You get a choice of meats to go in your slow cooked beans, a side of rice, a side of fired yucca, a side of sauted greens, toasted cassava flour with cracklins, 2 drinks and two desserts of mashed cooked fruits (hooray gluten free everything!) R$77 each person... More

We were treated very nicely at this restaurant and had a really nice meal. The portions are huge and we could have easily split one entree, but we opted to get two. One feijoada and a chicken dish. The chicken was wonderful, very tasty. The feijoada was a bit on the salty side, but once you mix it with the... More

The restaurant is located nearby the famous Ipanema beach. It is quite old fashioned venue, with the rear tables not very well lit. If you can, choose a table in front of the window. However, the service is warm and friendly and the house specialty (the traditional feijoada) is worth the visit, genearously portioned, delicious and supertasty. You can choose... More

Based on our experience, Casa de Feijoada is highly recommended if ... - You like to be treated as if you're an annoyance rather than a customer. - You love service that is stony-faced, never says "obrigado" or acknowledges anything you say. - You enjoy extremely salty feijoada (seriously, order a bottle of water with your meal, you'll need it).... Found this restaurant because friends came across it when they were shopping at the hippie fair across the street. We walked in and were immediately greeted with some feijoada (good but salty) and then some greasy salty sausage and a fruity cachaça. The five people I was with had the full meal. I managed to order chicken off the menu(it... More

We have eaten a lot of feijoada, but this restaurant beats them all. Great staff, friendly service, amazing food, fun ambiance. This was our second trip to casa da feijoada and very well worth it. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting to sample feijoada.

The food is amazing, is very tasty, great for tourists to have the real feijoada and even for natives who want to have a good one. The caipirinha there is very good too, but veeeery expensive, its not worthy. The portion is very big and if you want more they will bring it to you (you pay almost 80 reais... More

Last time I was in Brazil, I didn't get a chance to try feijoada because it's usually served on certain nights. I was quite happy that we could have it on a Tuesday night. We had the classic version - no surprising pork parts and it was delicious. I love how the servers serve your food for you. Would recommend... More
