A place for The best Feijoada

Feijoada is an iconic dich from Brazil. Is traditional and delicious. This restaurant is really great for having that. Just reserve the entire afternoon for eating and do not have breakfast. And do not forget to have enough Caipirinha de la casa to digest!!! This one is expensive.

My first time ever trying feijoada and this place was great! Excellent service, and they are clearly proud of their craft. Just order the traditional meal for the table, and you receive unlimited amounts of everything: meat, greens, potatoes, the house alcoholic drink, and much more that I can't remember. Also, they didn't serve the tail, ear, hoof, etc to... More

So definitely had to try out Brazils national dish and had heard about this place on YouTube, online sites, and TA. I'm glad that we went to try it but once was enough. Located right next to the metro station in ipenama, it was a cozy place. We were expecting it to be busy but I think there were maybe... More

The waiter was really helpful. We do not speak portuguese but he was there to translate. The food was a bit salty but we realise that it is so in most restaurant. we really enjoyed the coffee and the traditional way they prepare it. we even bought the machine. Was a bit expensive..... but happy to bring it back home.

We chose this restaurant because it is around the Conner of the place We stayed. The greeting by the waiter was cold and rushed, don't know why as the place was almost empty and it was around 8pm, Started asking for our order just two minutes after we sat and didn't even ofter a menu in English until we requested.... I went for dinner with two friends of mine. We were greeted by a very unfriendly waiter that kept on coming to the table to ask for our order without (a) giving us time to decider the only (shared amongst three of us) menu, (b) offering advices, (c) offering an English menu. When I finally got a hold of the... More

If you are looking for an excellent comfort food meal which is traditional to Brazil, go to the Casa de Feijoada. It is a small, intimate restaurant on a busy street corner in Ipanema. The family running it made us feel at home explaining the dishes (as best they could with their limited English and our non-existent Portugese). Of course,... More

Recommend by the Inn. A must try. Local food and drink. The best coffee in Brazil. Fish stew the best ever and the Feijoada excellent. One order easily serves two. An absolute must.

as I love trying the local food, both our guide and the hotel staff recommended feijoada. The desk manager at our hotel sent us to Casa da Feijoada with a note to start us with a Capirinha on him (nice touch, thanks Ipanema Inn). We chose the 3-course meal, asked lots of questions about the food, all patiently answered --... More

You get a lot of food here in the 3 course meal. You get a choice of meats to go in your slow cooked beans, a side of rice, a side of fired yucca, a side of sauted greens, toasted cassava flour with cracklins, 2 drinks and two desserts of mashed cooked fruits (hooray gluten free everything!) R$77 each person... More
