Feijoada is the traditional national Brazilian dish -- based on black beans cooked with meat, usually pork, and served with hunks of meat, vegetables, and a variety of side dishes including farofa, the fried manioc (casaba root) that Brazilians love. We were very disappointed in our attempts to find restaurants serving feijoada on weekdays -- many places only serve it... More

I had a really nice meal at Casa da Feijoada. I was eating alone so the wait staff were attentive and friendly and even dished out my meal for me from the serving bowls brought to the table. The price was a little high but worth it for sure!

Located on the edge of Ipanema next to the Praça Geral Osório, and near to Copacabana, Casa da Feijoada has no peers when it comes to Brazil’s national dish, which is customarily eaten on Saturday. Here it can be had any day of the week, served with a flourish and with as much explanation as is wanted about what is... More

I had lunch here today. Knowing only I had to try Feijoada while in Brazil I asked my hotel staff where to go for good feijoada and this is the place they suggested. I walked in around 3pm on Wednesday and there was plenty of seating available. I was on my own and the waiter worked with me on my... More

Extremely expensive. Not particularly good -we all found it too salty. Certainly no better than the feijoada you could get many other places for half the price. Our waiter was cold bordering on rude.

Looking for a tipical Brazilian food, that is the Feijoada, originally created by the slaves, become after years a tipical Brazilian dish, and this place is specialized on it... You can find feijoada as well in other restaurants but mostly on saturdays (in Rio de Janeiro) and on wednesdays (in São Paulo)... the diference here is that they have it... More

Gopd authentic Brasilian food however try to book ahead for a table as this is a very busy restaurant. Waiters not terribly friendly but they seem to have the clientele regardless of this fact.

A wonderful dinner in a traditional restaurant which is well decorated and soft Brazilian music in background. They start with a few pork sausages and a Brazilian bean soup.... they also provide shots of their local national drink... that's before you look at the menu... the feijoada, the specialty of the house, is plentiful and very tasty. The fish dish... More

This small restaurant located at the southeast corner of Praça General Osorio in Ipanema has earned lots of accolades of TripAdvisor, Epoca, Veja (Brazilian magazines) and even a Michelin star. Yes, at R$78 (34 USD) per person (all-you-can-eat, drinks and tips not included), this place is anything but cheap. And you can certainly have a feijoada elsewhere in Rio for... More
