Feijoada (pronounced fay-ZWAH-da) is a traditional Brazilian stew with black beans, beef and pork. it is usually served with rice and assorted sausages, such as chouriço, morcela or farinheira in a clay pot. It is customary to serve it with side dishes such as white rice, couve à mineira, grated collard greens or kale, farofa, roasted cassava flour, fried pork... More

For traditional Brasilian stew made of leftover parts, you can dine in style at this restaurant and pay high prices for the experience. This is pretty much all that is offered on the menu. I'm not sure just how authentically traditional this restaurant's offering is--it definitely caters to the tourist crowd and apparently to some wealthier local businessmen (from the... More

We went there for dinner when we first reached Rio and didn't know where else to go for feijoada. The plus point for Casa da Feijoada is that you know the restaurant will definitely be serving it. Some restaurants only serve feijoada on weekends. We like the fact that you can request for various parts of the pig as part... More

I m not sure how this place gets 4 stars, their Feijoada, which is supposedly their specialty, is easily the worse meal I have ever had at a restaurant. Meat tastes like plastic actually. Big disappointment!

We were taken to this place by our tour guide and he stated that they make Feijoada in Rio . He left as it was the end if the tour. It seems that it is one of those arrangements were the tour guide gets a comission for taking tourist to a restaurant. Nothing wrong with that when it is at... More

Located in Ipanema area this smal but nice restaurant serves basicly "Feijoada" at Carioca style. Ask for "carnes nobres" and the drink of the house ("cachaça" of lemon and Maracuja). The quality of the Feijoada is very good and after some cahaça drinks you will feel more carioca for sure. There are always peolpel waiting outside the restaurant for a... More

Feijoada is the traditional national Brazilian dish -- based on black beans cooked with meat, usually pork, and served with hunks of meat, vegetables, and a variety of side dishes including farofa, the fried manioc (casaba root) that Brazilians love. We were very disappointed in our attempts to find restaurants serving feijoada on weekdays -- many places only serve it... More

I had a really nice meal at Casa da Feijoada. I was eating alone so the wait staff were attentive and friendly and even dished out my meal for me from the serving bowls brought to the table. The price was a little high but worth it for sure!
