Bar do Mineiro has become a tourist trap. It used to be a decent place, but nowadays charges very high prices and its service is terrible. Located in the bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa, it seems to attract only unaware tourists and people from other neighborhoods. The locals NEVER go to Mineiro, opting instead for the much nicer Armazen Sao... More

This used to be a great little place to take friends visiting Rio. It's in a fun, artsy part of town and the food used to never disappoint. However, over the past year they have inflated their prices and reduced their portion size. They've made it into so many guide books and so figured out they could rip people off... More

Loved the Rabda! the place does look like it could do with a good clean but I guess that's part of its caricature. Shall always go back to get my fix for Rabada though and its pretty fair priced for today's Rio. Always finish off the meal with a shot of cachaca and a nice stroll back down the hill... More

The feijoada was good and the portions were huge-one order is truly enough for 2 people. We were there during the World Cup so maybe my experience was skewed but I wasn't overly impressed. The place was packed with tourists and I found the prices really high. R$50 for the feijoada. I'm sure this was once a really special authentic... More

Our guide took us to Bar do Mineiro when we requested to taste the best feijoada in Rio, and we were not disappointed. There is absolutely nothing fancy about this bar, but it serves great, honest food. We went there at slightly before noon on a Tuesday and it was not crowded at all. Definitely our favorite place for feijoada... More

Great little bar with tiled floors in the Santa Teresa district. Lots of hipster types about, but don't let that put you off. The owner knows his business inside out and, despite the seemingly busy bar, had our drinks sorted in an instant with minimal eye contact! Always a sign of a good bar. Food is also on offer, and... Great place for tourists. Atop the famous Santa Teresa neighborhood, this friendly bar is packed most of the time, so expect to wait a while. Great food options and they have a full menu in English.

Typical Brazilian restaurant. One of the places that serves Feijoada during the weekdays and it is delicious! You see it on almost every table for a reason. You can order it for multiple people, but it is a huuuuge meal, so consider ordering for one less (order for 2 people if you are 3) unless you are all big eaters.... More

Great crowd, friendly service and fantastic Feijoada. Good Caipirinhas, good food. We did not like the long wait but this occurred only once in our four trips there.

After obsessively watching Anthony Bourdain for my upcoming trip to Rio, I made it a point to not leave Rio without visiting this place. What an amazing little place! If you are hungry, come a little early because you will likely have to wait for a table. We had a group of 8 and waited about 40 minutes. In the... More
