Good options for meat eaters as well as vegetarians

Right on the main avenue, close to most of the other action. Have a couple of drinks on the beach and then walk across to the restaurant for a sumptuous meal. My colleagues had lamb and they liked it (although not typical middle-eastern taste). I had a bunch of vegetarian stuff (although not that... read more

My friends had eaten here before and this was my first visit while staying in Rio. I wish I had discovered this place sooner as I probably would go back. The service was very good and he explained each selection and brought us extra bread (nan) since we ordered much more than we realized! Every dish was quite flavorful as... More

I have been there for lunch and for dinner. It's completely different. During the day you have a buffet with all kind of Arabian food and salads and pay for what you have eaten. At night sometimes you can have belly dancing. The food is an Brazilian interpretation of Persian food and it is very good specially it's lamb. The... More

The meal was Ok, nothing special - the humous rather tasteless, and bread not to the expected standard. Worst part was that we were also uncomfortable. We sat at the edge of the restaurant, and after a while, the sky blackened, and a heavy rain storm began. The waiter wound out the canopy, but it leaked, and some of us... More

We just ordered a shared mezza dish because we weren't particularly hungry. Wow, it was a lot of food; and was delicious as well. We ordered the super mezzas for R$99 ($37 U.S.) and a bottle of Cabernet for R$60 ($21 U.S). We could only finish about half of the food! Look at my photo of the menu to see... More

The service was very good, and the waiters were very respectful of the customers. The food was outstanding, and there was a huge variety of what to eat. The prices were a little high, but the experience was well worth it.

I recently dined at the Arab restaurant again, after a long unintentional hiatus, and it was as good as ever. There are actually at least two - the other one is on the banks of the Lagoa and is also good and has the added charm of a prettier ambiance. But my preference is for the one that is oceanfront... Visited last night, was ok. We only had starters and were full so we didn't order any mains...the waiter hovered a lot expecting us to order mains but we made it up in beer. the only downside was the smell of sewerage that wafted every so often...otherwise I would recommend....nice view too
