A wondeful building with a mirror-covered romm for snacking on ground level and a restaurant room upstairs for lunch (buffet style). Very beautiful place with an Art Deco mood which takes you back to the 20's. Food is good (but not exceptional) and the menu gives the opportunity to sample Brasilian specialities.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Confeitaria Colombo with chicken turnover, chicken pastry and prawn puffs/pastries followed by coffee (Café com leite and cappuccino ) and dessert(Portuguese custard tart and chocolate eclairs). It is beautiful inside with those very antique shelves, large mirrors and a beautiful dome. IT was very crowded but we were lucky to be seated almost immediately... More

The food here was simply tasty and the service was pretty good. We love the old fashion decoration that live up to the early starts of this restaurants in the late 19th Century. The huge mirrors placed on all walls give a sense of limitless rooms. Worth giving this place a try.

Nice place for coffee and pastries brake while exploring Rio's Centro. They have pastries on display so you can choose what you want to order. And the historic surroundings are impressive. There is an option to have lunch upstairs but we have not tried it.

My family and I experienced a lovely lunch at Colombo a few weeks ago. The salads were all very tasty and the entrees and desserts were amazing. The dining room is beautiful and has lots of historical character. We loved the piano player and the overall ambience/vibe. With that, we certainly will be back to Colombo on our next visit... More

This is a traditional restaurant in downtown Rio de Janeiro. One typically goes there for pastries at tea time or for lunch. I went for lunch which is served on the second floor as a buffet. Definitely worth the price! I strongly recommend it. Please note that there are two locations, one in Copacabana and one downtown. For me the... More

We got there on a weekday afternoon and got a table right away, it took a while until our waitress got our order (water, lemonade and one strawberry pastry), we can't judge their food based on one pastry but it was delicious!!! The ambiance is wonderful! I asked 3 different waiters for the bill and after 20min we stood up... More

A great place to stop for a coffee and enjoy a omlette, desert or one of their great sandwiches! Its not over-priced as you would expect and definitely worth the royal atmosphhere. We went there straight from the airport and continued to the "Escadarias de Selaron" afterwards.

Amazing food! Wonderful place with its classic decor. Try the breakfast , snacks with shrimp, the sweets - I love the cream eclair that basically dissolves in your mouth... It is a mandatory stop in Rio's downtown.
