Brocaded mirrors around you your coffee or meal

An old caffe from the 1800s. Take there the PASTEL DE NATA, it is a delicious cake that goes perfect with a coffee. In the middel of the hectic streets from the center you get in this hall and it transports you to another century.

Confeitaria Colombo - founded in 1894 by Portuguese immigrants Joaquim Borges and Manuel José Mereiles Lebrao, has had many celebrity clientele over the years. Huge crystal mirrors from Antwerp framed in carved rosewood, Wooden furniture and overall architecture and atmosphere of this place, give you the feeling of how it would have been during the 'Belle Epoque' at the turn... An old historic place with plenty of history in a small narrow shopping street. The place Is nice inside but the price is high for what you get. You pay for the history rather than the food quality. Worth a visit if only to look inside.

Very beautiful venue. But just enter, shoot some pictures and LEAVE for another place to eat or drink. Super overpriced. Bad food. Small portions. Bad service. ... Avoid and spend your money in better places!

We went with a group for lunch. The decor was something out of the last century with beautiful mirrors and incredible looking desserts downstairs. We went upstairs and had the buffet lunch which had a wonderful buffet with a wide variety of choices all of which were delicious. It was not inexpensive but the experience alone of eating in a... As I said, I got impressed by many huge Belgian mirrors from 19th. century that surround you while having a "cafezinho". But, what a pity, coffee it's made by a Nespresso... I'd prefer a real Brazilian coffee, wouldn't you? So, I probably expected more than I saw...

We had taken the time to find this cafe in one of the side streets of Rio. Once found, the exterior looked quite amazing to the eyes with all it's classic/vintage designs on the walls, ceilings and fine china. This high class design was however misleading it's customers expectations of the quality of their service and food. Quite hilarious to... More

The service was very good, and the food was mediocre, but the atmosphere is something to definitely experience at least once in the lifetime. It's usually very crowded during the ferias so make sure you get there early.

This is a must for anybody in Rio. Not only the tasty pastries and spotless coffee, but also the movie-like romantic atmosphere enhancing the smells of food and love. The high-ceiling building is a museum piece and envites you to try eating more and forget about dieting. Leave it for tomorrow!

It is probably the best place in Rio to have tea or breakfast or even lunch, altho´not well known for its cuisine. The old world charm and the beautiful mirrowed salon from Vienna elevate your mood. It has famous pastries that were being made almost a hundred years ago. It´s just a perfect place to relax and look around, with... More
