I'm a professional guide of Rio Photo Guide in Rio de Janeiro and I definitely recommend a visit to this over 100 hundred year old tea house. In middle of the dynamic downtown area you will find Confeitaria Colombo. It is a great place to have the breakfast or afternoon tea menu. You can also go for a lunch meal... More

This is a really nice coffee shop. The mirrors on the walls, facing each other make the whole place a lot bigger than it is. The atmosphere is nice, but the place is quite expensive for what you get. I had an ice coffee but it wasn't any special, just an ordinary ice coffee. But it's worth to visit when... More

Confeitaria Colombo is a must go whenever you're visiting Rio. The food is a little overpriced, but the quality compensates it. The breakfast or Brunch menu is wonderful and full of flavor. If you want to appreciate all its architeture and prime location, get there early, Confeitaria Colombo opens 9am on Satudays, be ready to get there around this our,... More

This place will remind you of the cute coffee shops in Porto, Portugal. The decor is made of candid gold platted shimmerings with a mirrored finish. The tables & chairs are old styled with antique European feel to them. The food is to die for - it has the best cappuccino I have ever tasted. The egg tart will remind... More

Really enjoyed our visit to this stunning cafe with good options for lunch - upstairs a buffet, downstairs a cafe with huge range of tasty pastries, crepes, salads and desserts, and good selection of wines to accompany it. well worth a visit if you are in Rio. Most delicious cappuccino we had ever had. Cabinet displayed the range of pastries... More

Another " not to be missed in Rio" (the one in rue goncalves dias) for the exceptional beauty of the place. Although I was dissapointed with the pastries, nothing to shout about, (I tried 3!) but then again I live in France and am probably very spoilt ! It was also very difficult to order not speaking the language. The... More

This place was crowded so I was thankful we headed upstairs seated overlooking the rotunda.--upstairs inner circle, lovely. Absolutely fabulous meal, great service and super romantic. Makes you want to stay and hear the stories surrounding this place ! The food was great and it was my first time to Rio. Quite memorable.

Kind of hard to enjoy dessert or coffee with hundreds of people taking pictures all around you...still the place was impressive tho! Stylish and rich in history! After walking some of the back allies in Rio, we went to this place, change of ambience in a micro-second. Not too shabby!
