We visited based on a recommendation. A long line awaited us, but we were seated in 20 minutes. While waiting we perused the many showcases of the desserts available. All of them looked delicious and fresh and they were. Once seated no one came over to us to take our order. After 20 minutes we flagged down one of the... More

The 19th century building and wood, mirror and glass interior is spectacular. It is well worth poking your head in if you are walking around Centro. The snacks and sweets are very good. Try a cachaça tart! Tea on the top floor is an option for those who like that in the afternoon. Coffee drink? Be warned. A cappuccino will... More

If you are in Rio and walking around downtown, you must stop at this place. The old building where it stands is just amazing. Food and desert are also a temptation. You won't regret.

Good place to visit because its architeture besides that nothing special. I ate some pastries and a coffee. I thought it was a little bit overpriced for what i got 15 us dollars . Anyways it was a good experience overall.

Food is good and desserts are amazing! So good it is hard to pick one! The building itself is a beauty. Definitely a must see if you are visiting Rio. They also have a branch in Forte Copacabana.

Beyond the marvellous meals you may have the experience to have a lunch at a art nouveau place from the 19 th century. On the weeks you may listen a pianist in this wonderful place where the chicken croquette is divine!!!

The second floor had a great buffet, but the first floor is full of great taste, from coffee to dessert, the maracuya cake is delicious.

Built in the 20's, with giant Belgian mirrors all arround, stylish small tables and chairs, it is really worth the trip and the waiting line for a meal or just a snack.

It keeps the old tradition. The food is extraordinary and the place a typical tropical belle-epoque café and restaurant. It's really worth visiting.

Amazing buffet lunch - the food was gorgeous. Fish, meats, more meats, sides, salads - everything. Then dessert - miniatures of all the treats in the bakery downstairs (so don't eat any before lunch!). Mmmmmm try a little of everything. A couple of dishes were a little salty, but otherwise exquisitely cooked and presented. Would be good it there were... More
