Brasil is a young country so XIX century is old here.this place tells the story of 'ancient ' times when Rio was the Capital, where everything happened here.the mirrors, surrounding the ehole restaurant, are very beautiful pure crystal.don't expect much from the things coming out the kitchen but have your tea in peace!

Confeitaria Colombo is located in a narrow side street off busy Avenida Rio Branco, and is a bit hard to find. It's well worth the search. This stunning turn-of-the-century coffee house doesn't appear to have changed at all since it opened in 1894. The only minor down-side is, it is recommended in all the guide books, and is pretty packed.... More

It offers traditional meals, desserts and sweets from both Brazil and Portugal , receives many tourists each and every day and should improve the service in order to, at least, stay close to the quality of its origins

Even if buffets are not your thing, this classic is worth visiting. Stain glass ceilings, and decor echo a bygone era but the food is fresh and tasty. Locals and tourists mingle at the buffet areas very much worth a visit and a lunch experience!

This is a great place to stop and take a break from touring the central city. The restaurant is on a pedestrian street and captures the spirit and atmosphere of the Belle Epoque Rio. Like many reviewers, we were in awe of the decor. I ordered a chocolate soda which turned out to be a good old fashioned New York... More

This is a special place. It's a historical scenery, icon of the Belle Époque in Rio de Janeiro. It represents all the Glamour the city has experienced all over the years. Nowadays, the food is very nice, though it might not be the best meal you'll have in Rio. But the ambience and the atmosphere make it all worth it.... More

Colombo is a classic, historical restaurant, a center for literary discussions and political gossips in the turn of the century. It witnessed the change from imperial period to the republic, freedom of slavery and other important historical facts from brazilian history, when Rio was the capital of Brazil. Its architecture and decor represents very well this period. You can´t miss... More
