The first branch of the Rio Gero, inaugurated in 2002, following the success of the Sao Paulo track brother. Winner of awards from Rio Show gastronomy and the magazine Veja Rio, the menu prepared by Rogerio Fasano is based on classic recipes of Italian cuisine, like lamb stinco the oven with potatoes and alcachofrinhas and veal ravioli to funghi sauce. The environment designed by the same architect of the Sao Paulo home, Aurelio Martinez Flores, has the same decor clean and stripped and has become a landmark in the local night, considered the meeting point of personalities, artists, journalists and all the grand monde Rio.

Nice Italian Restaurant in Rio!

Had a great night at Gero on my trip to Rio de Janeiro in May. Good atmosphere, services and great Italian food. A bit pricey, but if you like Italian food it is worth it!

Went there to have a late lunch no reservation made and some tables available. Very nice setting and ambiance. Service perfect! Food ok, but somewhat overpriced. I had an spaghetti with garlic and olive oil for R$ 70,00 but I have to admit it was perfect! Wine list complete but prices very high. A place to see and be seen.... More

It's been years since Gero came to Rio de Janeiro as a stretch of the Fasano chain from Sao Paulo. It was intended by the then owner to be different from the Gero in Sao Paulo. Things and time passed by. Gero is very good. Attentive staff, well prepared and fairly elegant dishes, very nice ambiance. But it is excruciatingly... More

We had a great dining experience here. The wine Italian pino was delicious. My Tomato soup capped with a fried egg was different but very tasty. The fish ravioli stuffed with Veal and mushroom sauce and meat dishes were cooked to perfection and we all enjoyed our meal greatly. It was worth the expensive tab that followed. Better to be... Based upon reviews online, we decided to visit this Italian restaurant in Rio. It lived up to the reviews! The food was delicious and full of flavor. The service was excellent. All the staff was attentive to our needs. It is a bit expensive but definitely worth the money in quality of the food and service.

We had a group of 5 of us and we really liked the restaurant. The pasta is made fresh daily in house, the wine list is very nice and the service was GREAT! The food was tasty and the place feels very trendy and cool. It was very expensive though and cost us about $900 for the 5 of us.... More

I took my daughter to have dinner at Gero on the first Tuesday in August. Although the food was ok, and the atmosphere was trendy and the service, impeccable, I just do not think it was worth it. I know we sometimes pay a lot for the sake of having an interesting experience, but the price was such a rip... More
