The first branch of the Rio Gero, inaugurated in 2002, following the success of the Sao Paulo track brother. Winner of awards from Rio Show gastronomy and the magazine Veja Rio, the menu prepared by Rogerio Fasano is based on classic recipes of Italian cuisine, like lamb stinco the oven with potatoes and alcachofrinhas and veal ravioli to funghi sauce. The environment designed by the same architect of the Sao Paulo home, Aurelio Martinez Flores, has the same decor clean and stripped and has become a landmark in the local night, considered the meeting point of personalities, artists, journalists and all the grand monde Rio.

Very nice time but expensive!

We had a group of 5 of us and we really liked the restaurant. The pasta is made fresh daily in house, the wine list is very nice and the service was GREAT! The food was tasty and the place feels very trendy and cool. It was very expensive though and cost us about $900 for the 5 of us.... read more

Based upon reviews online, we decided to visit this Italian restaurant in Rio. It lived up to the reviews! The food was delicious and full of flavor. The service was excellent. All the staff was attentive to our needs. It is a bit expensive but definitely worth the money in quality of the food and service.

I took my daughter to have dinner at Gero on the first Tuesday in August. Although the food was ok, and the atmosphere was trendy and the service, impeccable, I just do not think it was worth it. I know we sometimes pay a lot for the sake of having an interesting experience, but the price was such a rip... More

Priced at the top end of town, but you get what you pay for here. Excellent food, service to match and great ambience. What a great experience and the staff are to be commended for their service, been a long time since l've seen a team work like such a well oiled team and deliver like this, exceptional. Congratulations management... More

A beautiful understated dining room with white tablecloths, fine cutlery and china, serving delicious fresh food that would be at home in the finest restaurants in Florence. The service was just right, and I think that we were the only tourists there. It's pricy, but worth it.

The restaurant is very well decorated, with confortable chairs and pleasant atmosfere. The pasta is excellent but very expensive for a pasta. The same for the deserts that are awsome but equaly expensive. They have a very good wine selection and the service is perfect. So, this is an excellent option for a business dinner if your company is paying... More

Had a great meal - we were a large group, but the service didn't falter. Would definitely recommend any of their risottos or fish dishes.
