Local cuisine in Paraty

Friendly service and local cuisine make a good combination at Casa do Fogo. We had entrees that were new to us and we enjoyed every one.

A hidden gem in Paraty with a cosy environment. We followed TripAdvisor comments and went to that restaurant which exceeded our expectations. The waitress provided an excellent service and the food was simply delicious and to add to that, there was a couple playing some music just or us as we came very early. Mains goes from R36 to R75... I could cry that I probably cannot ever visit this restaurant again – among the best food ever enjoyed, and the warmth of the staff, and special encounter with Jennifer, was so special for me and my niece. My fish on a flambeed vegetable mixture was unbeatable - world class, as was the octopus. Ditto the wines, ditto desserts. Ditto... More

Ate here for dinner last night and it was such a wonderful experience. The restaurant was practically empty but they still had live music which felt like a private performance by the end. The service was EXCELLENT and the food was great as well. We had both of the steak dishes, the fish with veggies and the shrimp in coconut... More

My friend and I went to Casa do Fogo at the end of December after having read about it in various guidebooks. While the menu is very attractive, the service was extremely slow that night as every single table waited probably an hour for food. Once the food came, it was good, but a huge damper after having to wait... More

That was our best culinar experience in Paraty. It was very light and most of the dishes were flambeed with some tropical fruits and other local components. There was some nice music during the meal but not too loudy either. The only bad point of the service is that they try to make you pay as much as possible (they... More

The atmosphere is magic when you hear the gentle sound of a flaute and gitar on the back playng the most famouse brasil songs. The service really friendly and effective. The food.... what to say when you read the menu´is really appealing , unfortunately it was not reflecting that tasty factor we were expecting. Just the music is worth a... More

we were wandering around, hungry and stepped in to find a cozy friendly gem of a restaurant. Very friendly staff. Most of the dishes are flambeed, thus the name. I had a delicious shrimp guava dish and a squid papaya peppermint appetizer. The live music was not bad, but it was loud and you get the privilege of paying R$10... More

I had two evenings at this delightfully friendly, cosy restaurant. The flambeed Camarao do Chef(70 Rais) were served with a passion fruit and coconut milk sauce, saffron rice and steamed vegetables. It was delicious, the gentle sweetness of the prawns well complimented by the sauce, and all cooked perfectly. Next night I had flambeed fish with banana, vegetables and palm... More

Surprisingly it is difficult to find original Brazilian restaurants in Paraty. We found this little gem in the historic part of the town and were blown away by it. The service staff, super friendly and fun. Great caipirinhas and fantastic food! A MUST WHEN VISITING PARATY!
