consistent service / great drinks

I frequented this beach restaurant multiple times within a week. The prices were fair with consistent quality in food and service. Fish was not dry, like many other experiences on the island. Their juices were also emulsified better which led to better caipirinhas. My entire group really preferred... read more

On a super busy night on the beach, we had good good basic food. Prices were cheaper; our services was good. Caprinhas were served in fountain glasses though and not that authentic. I would expect the Moqueca to be better though, so try the fried fish.

we dined here twice, poor food (fish, chicken, burgers), service is mediocre, both times they forgot something from the order, food never arrived at the same time for all 4 of us. And it took ages to get food... there are a couple much better choices in the village.

Our first night on Ilha Grande and the local dish is Moqueca and this place was called Moqueca King or Rei Do Moqueca so of course we thought we'd give it a try. Good location on the beach though; we waited ages and then got a big cauldron of soupy fish which was just Ok . we were pretty hungry... More

The price is fair and good portions. We had a halibut with shrimp and on another day a steak over a hot stone pan. GREAT. Nice service and on the beach at the main area. PS... too many dogs staring at you begging for a bite. Do not feed them, since they will stick around you! :-)

Came here for lunch. Place was reasonably busy however it took us over an hour and a half to get food (we ordered a burger and salad). Looking around the tables no one had food. My only guess is instead of making orders as they came in they tried to make them all at once. Worse service than in other... More

The camarao mosqueca is very good. I love the natural juices too. The view of the place is very nice. I don't have any complaints about this place.

We went to "the king of moqueca" thinking the moqueca would be amazing, it is not! Very disappointed, had much better ones in other locations of Brazil. However, their caipirinhas were very nice ask for less sugar and they were awesome! Food wise they have an amazing seafood risotto and a good fish in shrimp sauce. Lovely outdoor setting with... The name of the restaurant makes believe that they are experts in the traditional Brazilian Seafood Dish Moqueca. But the food I got was a real disappointment. After almost an hour waiting, a friendly but unprofessional team of waiters served a tasteless Shrimp Moqueca with several main ingredients missing. After trying a few bites I refused the dish and returned... More

We were very keen to eat a good moqueca and therefore went to the self named King of Moqueca, very well located right overlooking the beach of Abraão. What a disappointment! The service was friendly but poor, and the food was even worse. A proper Moqueca, which we know from several previous occasions, tastes nothing like what seemed more like... More
