We were getting a bit weary of Brazilian food when I persuaded the family to walk a bit further along the bay to L'Escale. Warm and friendly welcome and such a pleasure to have imaginative, tasty, well seasoned, fresh food on the charming little terrace. Fish and steak both perfectly cooked, so everyone happy. The desserts, especially the profiteroles are... More

My lunch at L'Escale was the perfect start to my amazing experience in Buzios. Francis and Sylvia prepared a wonderful serving of pate, fresh fish and great wine. Normally I'm not a dessert person, but I'm glad I made an exception. Sylvia's crepes and ice cream was delicious! Will definitely be coming back to Buzios and L'Escale. What a perfect... More

Ate at L'Escale a few days ago and were looked after brilliantly by the delightful Sylvia. The food, fresh fish and chicken, was beautifully presented and the setting is great (well worth a 5 min walk) along the seafront. The crepe to finish was well worth the indulgence. Nice to feel really cared for in a restaurant.

We visited the restaurant during a short break during the World Cup. The atmosphere and quality of the food was excellent. We ate locally caught fish and the wine recommend complemented it beatifully. Will hopefully return one day. The location was great too.

You'll fall in love the moment you enter, it is cosy, personal, with only two staff, one is the divine chef Francis( a modest person, so talented, cooked everything alone, The other the delightful waitress Sylvia. So much effort is put into every dish, you'll appreciate every moment. Highly recommended.

The owner - chef Francis knows well his stuff. He's bringing warmth to the tables in a discreet manner. I found his personal touch of key importance in the overall atmosphere of the place. Plating are great , wines, music and service among the best in town. I recommend the venue. Enjoy! Proprietarul - Chef Francis cunoaște bine lucrurile lui.... More
