Not really a typical french restaurant (but who cares ? you're in Brazil) but a French chef in Buzios, François. So it means, a chef who loves the product and likes to give the best to his customers. Fresh food, nice view, welcoming spirit thanks to Sylvia… and really affordable price, so rare in Buzios. Casual, honest, healthy and tasty... More

We were attracted to L'escale by the tripadvisor reviews and the fact that we enjoy French cuisine. We were not disappointed. The choice on the menu, the quality of the food and the presentation was excellent. We enjoyed the contact with the owner who provided very good service. All in all great value for money.

We came here by chance on Christmas Eve as most other restaurants were closed or fully booked. We had the most lovely people looking after us who spoke several languages and were very friendly and still smiling even though they were completely full and running around! We had a set menu for Christmas and it was great - the lobster... More

The reason why I have only given this restaurant an average rating is because we both ordered the durado and wanted potatoes with this fish dish rather than rice. We were told that this was possible but that we would have to pay extra for the potatoes even though we were not having the rice. Also the starter that my... More

We went to this restaurant twice last year. The owner/chef was great, and his wife was lovely too. It had a very personal feel. The food was delicious and my wife and I have been talking about the profiteroles for the last 12 months!

We had garlic prawns and they where hardly hot. The food were boring and having travelled to Brasil 6 times before, I always have a hard time saving my apetite for the right meals. This place was a waste of apetite, eating in Brasil can be so much better.

What a find! If you continue some 6-700 metres out of Buzios Town on the coast road, past the statue of Brigitte Bardot you will come to L'Escale which overlooks the bay at the end. A wonderful authentique bistro run by a warm french husband and wife team. Really nice home cooked authentique dishes at very sensible prices - a... More

The restaurant itself is little and cozy, but the food is tasteless. It is not very expensive but I still expected more of it, after reading recommendations on tripadvisor. They used the same sauce for many dishes, furthermore they used canned vegetables. To sum up, it seemed like the restaurant only cared about making money...

We have noticed a growing number of bad reviews on internet, probably due to unscrupulous competitors. We don't use any canned vegetable, take care of our client's budget … and as for the wait, we recommand reservation to avoid such inconvenience. Thank you to our loyal customer for their support… and for the others, don't hesitate to visit us, it... More

The service and food was perfect! Since almost none speaks english in Buzios we were suprised they spoke english, which also made it easier to enjoy the visit. The prices was good too (compare to the extremly high prices on Rua las pedras). You must go to this restaurant if you are in Buzios!
