This place is simply awesome! It is unpretentious and even simple, but it is authentic in everything; from the delightful food to the decor, from the attention to the fair prices.
The appetizers are not that amazing and we thought it was not worth it... But the main course... the Macaxeira filled with Carne de Sol was simply the best...

The food was excellent, everything we tried was amazing. The service was also great, very friendly and attentive staff. We went back 3 more times for either snacks or dinner.

The food is delicious and the service is good. The music also contributes for a great atmosphere. The price is decent (~R$ 50 / R$ 60 per person with beverages and dessert). As our taxi driver recommended it we went for it. the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant and the waiters are kind. we set outside, enjoying the guitar and voice of a very good musicians. the food was ok but no more than that (not really finesse in it, rice overcooked). We went there on your fist meal in Porto de Galinhas. We had their speciality that is a type of gratin with casava, meat or fish, more casava, cheese and grilled cheese. Located just off the main square, this restaurant can be a little hard to find. If you stand in the main square with your back to the ocean, look to the left and find the brightly lit Subway sign on the second floor. If you then look down to your right, you will see Barcaxeira tucked under a porch awning....
