Awesome Food, Moderate Service

The food is awesome. The gnocchi was superb and the crab cake sandwich was delicious. Service was fine but the waitress lacked any personality and didn't make us feel welcome at all...it was a little weird and awkward.

Excellent food for my first trip to the 2nd Street Bistro. Quiet Monday night in May, service was nothing to write home about, but the food was great! I'll be back, hoping that I have a new server with a personality. Make sure to try the mushroom bruschetta!

Trip advisor links another place's (same name) menu which is how we ended up here. A gal singing and playing piano which was lovely. And then the service. Or lack there of. Wow. I really can't describe it. If I'm paying $8 for a glass of sangria and $16 for a Po Boy sandwich (just the Sammie, no sides or... More

I took my sister and niece from Madison to lunch there and they liked it very much. Good food and service and the prices were in line with the food.

We asked locals where they would eat...2nd Street Bistro got the votes. So, we went out to dinner and a bottle of wine. We both went with our server's choice for both...squash ravioli, great sauce, a bit of sausage...amazing really. And the wine choice was good, too. Calm demeanor of the server, good selection of music in the background made... More

I have been to 2nd Street Bistro a handful of times. A few times for dinner and a couple times to watch the live acoustic sets of local talent. The drinks are good, but spendy. The food is also good, served rather 'fancy' yet spendy again. The atmosphere is cozy as the venue is rather small. It's worth checking out,... More

We stopped in again for a light lunch and were not disappointed. It was Summer and hot so we wanted something refreshing to drink. The waiter/bar tender/owner offered an home made Sangria. Delicious! We had a tuna sandwich and light salad with basalmic dressing. The service can be a bit uneven if it gets busy as staffing is difficult to... More

This was a very romantic little setting! They even had a harp player that was very good! Food was good also! Mushroom brushetta was something new that we tried and i feel in love with. It was a little chilly but bearable in the restaurant. It is a SLOW PACED restaurant so if you'd like to take your time i... More

We always try to plan our trips to Ashland to include a lunch at the 2nd Street Bistro. Our favorite is the White Fish Sandwich which is consistently fresh and delicious. (It's only available December through September because harvest of white fish from Superior in October and November is not permitted and the Bistro only serves fresh fish!) Fortunately there...
