A comfortable place to shelter from the rain!

The café is very comfortable, with sofas and soft chairs, and the coffee excellent, but despite a menu on a chalkboard outside, there was no food available when we visited. The kitchen was being re-decorated, as far as I could make out with only minimal Portuguese! The art exhibitions were also... read more

We spent several afternoons hanging around this welcoming place. Had beer and ice cream, not any real meals, but we liked the feeling a lot.

Plenty of cafes and bars serve the tourist trade in Ouro Preto - it's finding where the locals go which promises something extra. The Café Cultural sounds a worthy place - attached to the tourist information office, with an art gallery upstairs - but it turns out to be pleasantly lively and tasty. Specialising in bottled beers, it also serves... More

I am of the kind that likes expressos and books. I found both in this place. The atmosphere is cozy, the service friendly. A nice place to stop while walking the steepy Streets of the city.

Wonderful decoration , great coffees and beers and teas. Together with a " petit gâteau ", perfect combination with one of their many hot or cold coffees ! Very nice Belgian owner; Vincent gives you all kind of advise about the City and surroundings... I highly recommend this unique place, because the City lacks of this kind of cultural places!

Loved the whole experience there. Comfortable place where you can have a nice soup, good pão de queijo and, specially a fantastic banana petit gateau. Seriously, if you like banana, go for it. They also have a cool selection of beers. Really enjoyed it.

Really good location, just at the Tiradentes square. The place is beautiful! And the great beer selection make it even better. Regional and international brands. The owners are really nice, and if you don't know witch beer to order, ask Vincent. He is from Belgium and know all about them. Worth the visit.

Great variety of local beers, nice atmosphere with live music. Price little high but location is worthy.
