Such a nice atmosphere and very tasty creole food

In the Quadrado square, lighted with candles, very tasty creole food at reasonable prices. Tables set under a huge tree decorated with lanterns. Very romantic atmosphere.

We ate here twice and each time was delicious...salads and fish dishes! Really interesting starter with prawns potato and nuts! The staff are lovely and the musician is super!

ate at a number of the resteraunts on the quadardo and I thought this served the best mouqueca! Good prices given location and reasonable service.

The shrimp rizotto is terrible! I really don't recommend. Just avoid going there. Only the atmosphere is good. It's cheaper than others, but it's not good.

Location is great, right on the quadrado, under the trees. Food was really good (grilled fish, wine) and prices are average (compared to some other places around, because the quadrado is generally speaking very expensive). The place is still owned by a woman from the city, which is more and more rare now. We went there twice, with the same... More

Terrific food - the Caipiranha was one of the best I have had in my two weeks of travel across Brazil

A little less expensive than average, located right at the heart of the (literally) "Quadrado" square. Charming lighting hung on the surrounding trees. Good food, but my risotto was a bit too salty.

to dine below the stars and trees in the middle of the lovely quadrado in trancoso is really something, even if the food is not that great. we were expecting to taste the best moqueca (african-brazilian fish and seafood stew) ever, but the food was just OK. the service, although friendly, was really slow. but what a place: comfy chairs... We stayed 5 nights in Trancoso and figured some of the places we wanted to try, based on TA and our Pousada's recommendation: O Cacauo, Capim Santo and Silvana. Two great hits and a complete miss The seating in the Quadrado below the tree is nice. We detected early that this wasn't an upscale place, but put it in the... More

We enjoyed Silvano's so much during our 6 night stay in Trancoso that we went twice! We had the fish stew both times as we enjoyed it so much (local name Moqueca), with a starter of crusty calamari the first time and crusty prawns the second. The food here is fantastic. Good quality and good quantity. Service was great both... More
