nice place for a good meal

There's nothing negative to say. We ate there twice as our hotel was close and the food is really good, fresh ingredients, huge portions and a really good price. Our favourite was the arroz de polvo, incredible. You can sit outside, the tables are in a narrow road, so no traffic. The waiters were... read more

Ate here twice during our stay in Salvador (staying in Rio Vermelho area). Excellent food from the octopus in vinegar to any of the grilled meats (the Picanha was some of the best I've ever had!). Very lively place, especially on weekends and if you can grab a table outside it's even more enjoyable. As well, after dinner you're just... More

The food was fantastic. We ordered the baked shrimp with broccoli rice. And a side of gratin potatoes. The food was very tasty. The portions were large. The service was very good. The restaurant is clean, and the air conditioner worked well. You can also sit outside if you like. I found this restaurant on my last night , had... More

So happy I found this place! I took my girlfriend for her birthday dinner before the 1st night of carnival as it was close to our hotel and reasonably priced. I wasn't expecting much from the outside but WOW the food was ridiculously good! The portions were huge (if you're in a couple 1 starter and 1 main between you... More

The size of the portions are good for 3 or 4 people , if you are only in 2 the waiter warns that is better to order half portion , very honest , the service is excellent too. The food is very tasteful and the prices are very fair , for me the best dish is Camarao Comodoro (shrimps with... More

Went there twice during our stay in Salvador. The food is great and reasonably priced. Try the octopus rice and the shredded beef with pumpkin.

Walking down RuA Vermilla we chanced upon this restuarent in an alley with tables and chairs but packed to the hilt with the locals. They do have English menus which we only relaized on our 2nd visit. Don't know the names but nos 7-10 and 65 ( octopus) atmposhere is casual- food is great- flavour is local.price slightly on the... Boteco is a place where you can eat a meal, drink a couple beer, drink a lot of beer, have some finger food at almost any time, pay cheap for huge portions and everything is tastefull. Boteco do Franca is all of this. And more, in the heart of Rio Vermelho. Don't miss it!

The place is very casual and the food is really tasty (I ordered the octopuss vinaigrette and it was not only great, but also huge!).

The beer chasers here are great: lots of different "finger food" portions to choose from, all good. The one downside (the reason I did not give it 5 stars) is that there is only bottled beer, but no draft beer... That's a pity, because the warm weather in Salvador begs a "chope" (draft beer). Most tables or on an alley... More
