Great food, thoughtful service

Amado was my first stop when I arrived in Salvador, hungry and ready to sample all that the local cuisine had to offer. I had read previous reviews about the service, but I had a completely different experience - they were so warm and helpful! To be fair, I arrived for lunch shortly after it... read more

I'm reluctant to apply standards of fine dining of North American and European restaurants to Latin American locales, but in any case, I expected exceptional service and great food. The service was odd (they didn't seat us though tables were available, they didn't offer us drinks while they made us wait even though we were feet from the bar), and... More

Upscale, harbor-side, modern, cool atmosphere, attentive service. Oh, and manifestly touristy, but then that goes with the territory. My sense was that this is the sort of place that also has locals in the mix of diners, out for a special occasion. You will want a table outside on the deck. Get the picture? We liked the food and were... More

If you consider yourself a food-y and it's important to try delicious Bahian food while in Salvador, Amado (along with the more remote Paraiso Tropical) should be on your list. The food is excellent- we had the crusted fish with banana sauce, octopus rice, and a divine sun-dried beef. Everything is expertly prepared. Amado is a fairly classy establishment- "California... In 7 years on TripAdvisor I have written a few glowing reviews. This is the first time I have felt compelled to write a totally negative review in all that time. We had lunch at Amado in Salvador today, 29 December 2015, I mention that only because I hope the staff remember what appalling service they provided. The doorman will... More

This is one of the top class restaurant in town. Even though you are the foreigner, please be careful for the dress code.

Had an amazing late Sunday lunch overlooking the Marina and watching the sun go down. The waiters could not have been more helpful to us non Portuguese speaking people! Amado had the menu in English which made things easy for us and the food was delicious!

Bad/ inexperienced service. Menu with not so many options. The dishes are small, need entrees or ull be hungry, and it sums up to an expensive dinner. Too expensive for an average food, probably its for the nice view. Had the pasta with the tiny vongoles. Not good. Will not come back and never recommend it.

Steak was excellent. Salad as appetizer was excellent, as well. Servis on the right level. Only the duck brest was quite terrible. But the chocolate desert was the top notch. Clearly recommend.

Went there for a romantic dinner. Sitting by the water while the moon was shining was really nice. Food was good and they have a solid wine list. The place is cool and stylish.
