This is the kind of food we came to Salvador to experience and weren't let down! Yes as some have commented the service can be slower at times, however this is Salvador, and food is meant to be enjoyed as part of an experience. Talk, drink, enjoy the live music and the atmosphere Pelourinho creates whilst waiting for some really... More

This place is in a great location, in the heart of the Pelourinho. The food is delicious...if you are vegetarian I highly recommend the vegetarian moqueca. The prices were not exorbitant. Yes, there are definite drawbacks, extremely long waits being the most obvious (but I was there during the world cup (Germany v Portugal) so I guess it's understandable...there were... More

Very good moqueca in Pelourinho (old town) of Salvador. Restaurant with nice live music. Service was not very good though, we waited for about 45 minutes for our meal. The portion could have been a bit bigger. Due to the quality of the food it still is worth it going there. Don't order anything else than fish or seafood, this... More

The food is awesome! Very very typical from Bahia. Well located right at Pelourinho, nice ambience. Service also in the typical speed from Bahia.. Sooo slow!! We waited for 45 minutes for the food. But at the end it was still worth it.

I've read this place was a tourist trap and that the food was disgusting, but of all my meals in Brazil and Salvador I enjoyed Mamabahia the best. The moqueca was delicious and piping hot. I had the veggie moqueca (I don't like seafood) and my friends shared the shrimp moqueca. When we entered the restaurant around 5pm or so,... More

A clean establishment with a kinda authentic, colonial interior, live music (tips r included for the singer), a divine pineapple with melted cheese and shrimps (camarão tropical) is smth one can die for! =) Somewhat pricey but worthy.

Very bad turistic style restaurant. Medium prices, but for a very bad, ugly food. Fillet de carne was nothing special, served with a bad taste rice. Salads are poor looking and poor taste, there's nothing like a minimum sense of cooking.

We went there for lunch. We waited around 30 min to order drinks and food in the stifling heat. If Ordering was an ordeal, the worst was putting it in the mouth! Yuck. We asked for a rare sirloin steak and it came well cooked and very smelly.. The type of meat you could find at the mercado Sao Joachim... More

The restaurant was located in Pelourinho near the main square, typical touristy restaurant. Food ok but nothing special, steak was chewy. Lacking in atmosphere and rather warm when visited. Levies a charge for the musician.

Extremly bad interior and the feeling of this place was terrible. Because of the good recommendation we wanted to give it a chance. The filé mignon for 38 reais were raw and served with "noisette potatoes" (deep fried from the supermarket) and nothing else. So, bad expensive food.. Only plus to the nice old guitarplayer.
