Best Tambaqui fish I ate in Manaus! It's a great amazon fish, no bones, and the name "Banda" means it comes half of it - so it's pretty big! Even the small one is enough for 2 people. Price is also great. And don't forget to try the Taperebá juice (best amazon fruit ever).

This interesting restaurant is located a stone's throw from the Teatro Amazonas, which is reflected in the prices. The fish they serve is delicious (din't try any other dishes). One of their specialities, the 'Banda de Tambaqui', comes in different sizes, the 'small' being large enough for a filling lunch (it comes with many sides including beans, chopped tomato/onion, manioc... I had the Tambaqui de Banda and my boyfriend, who doesn't eat fish, had steak which he said was good. None of the staff spoke English and we don't speak Portuguese so when I ordered they couldn't tell me that the small Tambaqui de Banda is too much for one person! It was a lot of food but absolutely delicious,... More

If in Manaus, you must truly the local fish Tambaqui. A white fish with quite a bit of meat and and not so many bones. The restaurant does and excellent Tambaqui fish ribs dish, which is crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. However the fish and chips option was only average and the banana fritters was good... More

Went for lunch; I had the boneless tambaqui rib stew which was very good, with very interesting sauce and local greens. My wife had filet mignon, with rice, mashed potatoes and crunchy manioc--this was also a very good choice. The service was friendly but somewhat slow. Enjoyed fresh squeezed orange juice. While the menu listed a few wines by the... More

I dont usually like fish, but tambaqui de band is a whole different thing. I loved it. No other place in the world you'll find fish with "ribs".

I'm from Manaus and I must say there are other places you should try to have a great experience of eating traditional food. But still it is a comfortable climatization place and has very nice waiters. Beware when it's busy because it usually takes more than one hour to serve the food. You must pay attention that almost all dishes... More
