Pro's: Food is excellent Even though is was very humid the air conditioning was great in Skaliwags 2. Con's I do not like drinking a glass of wine out of a mason jar! Service is very SLOW. We were there for 2 hours and spent most of our time waiting for our dinner or trying to get the bill. Had... More

We live an hour and a half away and try to go here at least once a month. I have tried nearly everything on the menu and they have yet to disappoint. I love the hand muddled old fashions. Cannot say enough about the staff. As for negative reviews I have read on here regarding the atmosphere, they pride themselves... More

biked over for a meal after hearing so much about the restaurant. we were sat in skaliwags 2. one medium sized room with cheap flooring and a low ceiling. not the same experience that it seems the main dining room is. menu is handwritten on a dry erase board. no prices. very interesting dining experience that way. food was excellent... My last two trips to Algoma have only been for one-night stays. But, both times, we have managed to spend some time at this great little "dive-bar" restaurant. Admittedly, we have only tried the appetizers because our travels always include having had a mid-afternoon lunch in Green Bay with relatives. I had really wanted to try the crab cakes but,... More

no class, no atmosphere, needs addition and menu with prices" this is Algoma not New)York....service is what your suppose to get for these prices .waiting this long in a dive is not cool. You can sure tell the people around manitowoc and brown and door county have no idea what good food is. fresh fish? isn't that what you expect?... More

Your visit to Door County isn't complete until you dine at Skaliwag's in Algoma. Our great friends from Green Bay brought us to this very casual eatery one week ago. Their amazing fish and seafood is flown in from Hawaii, fresh as could be! I had the most creative scallops I have ever eaten...sea scallops wrapped in brisket! Oh my... More

This place is crazy busy for a reason: the food! The menu is extensive and the chef has a real knack for blending interesting flavors that work together. Our table had duck rolls (delicious!), crispy shrimp (phenomenal!), grilled romaine (awesome salad), lamb rack (declared the best ever, from a lamb snob), crab cakes (with real lump blue crab) and the... I have been here a few times, and I would definitely tell friends it's a place to come at least once. The seafood is good and the grilled romaine for an app is great. Service is usually best if you get there early. But as another reviewer said, I would feel better about the prices if I weren't sitting on... More

Minimal seating but amazing food. Some of the best seafood I've had. Not cheap but well worth it. Great knowledgeable wait staff.

A few people recommended, and even though it had mixed reviews, I thought I would try while visiting Door County. Do not bother. The first bar / dinning area we into was a dive, loud and smelled, they were full and we were taken to a 2nd location on same block. Was quitter then first, but could use a good... More
