We opted to try this burger joint based on all the good reviews and were not disappointed. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the big buddah--just head downhill towards the beach, when you reach it turn right and walk about 5 minutes, you'll see it on the right. We sat inside to avoid the smokers outside. It has a... More

My wife does a lot of research before our trips. This restaurant was one our main destinations in Kamakura. We aren't big sushi fans. So a burger with a Corona & Lime and a view of the ocean sounded very appealing. We weren't disappointed! Haven't been to Hawaii, but this strikes me as a similar atmosphere.

Really good hamburgers and french fries. Location is close to the Great Buddha - Hase Station. Easy walk. We both had avocado cheese burger. Server spoke good english.

After walking 10 miles we desperately needed something hearty and fish was not going to cut it. We heard about this place and made the journey to be presently surprised. Thick, juicy burger with quality fresh ingredients. It's a Japanese portion still but well worth it. Even the fries were amazing. With the excellent view, variety of burgers, and friendly... More

My husband and I visited today on a Saturday when most of the world seemed to be in the Kamakura area to view the cherry blossoms and enjoy an absolutely perfect weather day. Having arrived a few days ago from business in China (where the food choices tended to be "not so good") and not being a fish-lover (me) we... More

Emaciated, and on our last legs after fasting from the preponderance of fish, fish and more fish in Japan did we cross the threshold to Good Mellows at the north end of the beach at Kamakura. And what a lovely scene it was with 4 cheerful young men wearing knitted hats working in perpetual motion around the restaurant, cooking, assembling... More

The place was recommended to us by our hostel, supposedly it had great burgers. We were not left disappointed, the food was extremely tasty!! The guy working there was very friendly and helpful and we were highly surprised when he spoke to us in perfect Swiss German :)

My wife and I live in California, home of a million gourmet burger joints. We came to Japan on our honeymoon expecting to eat all Japanese food. Well after a couple weeks of all Japanese food, we started to crave a good ol American meal. We found good mellows by recommendation from our favorite local surf shop (Midtide). It had... More

Been living in Japan for nearly a year now and have been in search of a great burger. This place was a random stop walking around the beach and it was a cracker. The burger was full of flavor with big thick slice of cheese (fired on the hamburger patty), lightly toasted bun, pickles, a big juicy hamburger patty, a... More
