Food okay, service not

Went on a Thursday night and it wasn't very busy at all. Ordered our food on outside deck facing the river (you can smoke at the outside tables, by the way) and waited a loooong time. When the waitress finally came back, she told us my menu item wasn't available. I don't know why she couldn't have... read more

We drove an hour and 15 minutes to visit Stuart's today. Their advertising does a good job of getting you there, but you don't feel welcome or well fed. There is a serious disconnect between what they communicate and deliver. Menus show different prices in different places. Different times are shown for the availability of specials. And the servers are... More

This place used to be good. Went in April had cold drinks, good service, and great fried oysters. Been back 3 times since and it has been horrible each time. Went with family from out of town in May, and the service was slow, and flaky. Food was nasty and I was embarrassed I had recommended it. Well..same family was... More

Stuart's has the best beef brisket I've ever had. He has specials on Thursdays, Fridays and special occasions. You can float up and dock if your going down the Greenbrier River. Great food and great service.

The outward appearance looks a little rough, but it's a small town, and we visited on the recommendation of family in the area. We were desperate to watch the Women's World Cup and this was the nearest spot with televisions. The staff were extremely accommodating--changing the channel for us and killing the radio so we could turn up the volume... More

First of all, I/We had been to Stuarts in previous years as out-of-state visitor/visitors, and the experience was positive, with the food being spectacular. We eagerly went to Stuarts July 4th, three days ago, a party of eleven, with staff pulling two tables together. One waitperson took one table's orders, another waitperson took the other table's orders. THEN, a territorial... More

Went here on Friday July 3 @ 430pm. It wasn't busy and it took forever to get our food. We werent the only ones with the same problem, i had other family members there also. Once we finally got our food, it was pretty good. My wife got the corn on the cob as one of her sides and it... More

This place looks like a 'dive' along the river road between Alderson & Ronceverte, WV but if you give it a try you will find plenty of outdoor deck seating overlooking the Greenbrier River and a very diverse menu with terrific oysters, seafood & barbecue most of which is reasonably priced. Pretty well stocked bar as well and a comfort... More

Me and my wife went to the 4th of July festival in Alderson and stumbled on this place because of the hot dog eating contest which was absolutely a blast. DO NOT LET THIS PLACE FOOL YOU FROM APPEARANCES you will love everything on the menu. Multiple people have visited this place with us and some without us. Its always... More
