This is a place that went through some tough times and got a boost from restaurant makeover. It looked good from the outside and then you had to see what a mess the show really did to them. It was cleaned up and made over and the food was very good. The problem is the show left such a mess... More

Thursday 2/27/14 Took 2 friends to the Spunky Monkey Restaurant in Auburn, WA, WOW was that a BIG mistake. If there were a negative number I would post it. The restaurant was featured as a “restaurant makeover on restaurant impossible”, so I thought it was going to be inviting “NOT”. We walked in and there was no one to greet... More

I just had a lunch here and must say I was pretty disappointed. First of all, it's a strange entry having to go up a bunch of stairs. Right at the top of the stairs in the entry/circulation area they had a table with people seated which you had to go around tightly to get to the rest of the... More

The food was overcooked. The drinks were watered down. The service sucked. I thought the place would have been better since the make over.

We've frequented this restaurant for over 10 years. I'm surprised to read of some of the recent experiences. We've visited twice since the Restaurant Impossible remodel. We've found the menu offers variety and exciting new options. The service is excellent and attentive. The chef has delivered our food and chatted with us about our experience. The owner has been present... More

Not much choice on the menu. Food was a little overcooked. Was very disappointed. I had heard good things and saw they had remodeled. Seating was minimal. Decor was blah. Won't go again. Waitress was great though. Definitely need to change the name. It is NOT spunky!

Restaurant Impossible came in & apparently tried to save this place from itself. It's going to take more than a fresh coat of paint & some new furniture for me to go back. I had not gone before the tv show came in, so I have nothing to compare it to. I went in last night with a party of... More

I used to bring all my friends here and tell them, "You HAVE to come to this bar, it's so much fun!" That is no longer the case. If you're looking to have a good time, go somewhere else because there's nothing to do here any more. If you're looking for good food, Tacoma and Seattle have much better options... More

Our Opinion: Once Upon a Time, we Loved it. This place used to have the delightful audacity to encourage customers to feel like they were stranded on Gilligan's Island. It had THE BEST Tiki Jungle theme decor!!!! We always loved the tropical feel, and the way this restaurant had separated itself from the Typical Hipster scene. We are so GROSSLY... More

We went for lunch today because we wanted to see what changed after Restaurant Impossible visited the Spunky Monkey. The changes are FANTASTIC! The interior looks great. The dining area is nice, the bar looks great and the food was amazing.
