It's crowded for a reason

The value and food are very good but be prepared to wait in a long line for food/bathroom when it is busy. You may have to share a table with others as there are a lot of family style "community" tables. I ordered the clam chowder and it came with a delicious roll and a salad for under $8

Gere-A-Deli is a must-do if you visit Anacortes. We went at least 4 times in one week. Charming, in the heart of downtown, and high-quality, fresh food. Outside seating for doggies.

We love this deli. We make a monthly pilgrimage from Seattle to Anacortes to have lunch here. The sandwiches are made to order and the bakery items are some of the best you will find anywhere. Everything is fresh and delicious. The restaurant can be very busy but the folks that work here are unflappable and upbeat. Highly recommend the... More

Gere-a-Deli is a fun place for lunch, with something for everyone: big juicy sandwiches, enormous fresh salads, quiche, cheesecake, cobbler.... It's like an old-fashioned deli, but with food healthfully and deliciously updated. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere is fun. I'll also say that we ate Gere-a-deli's food catered at a wedding, and it was probably the... More

Walking around this quaint town, turned to Trip Advisor and decided to go to the #1 rated restaurant. The line was long when I arrived at 11:30, however, the line moved quickly and the staff was so friendly. I ordered a half sandwich a Tuna Melt, and a cup of Yukon Soup, both were delicious. There was plenty of seating,... More

For years this has been the go to place for lunch in Anacortes and for good reason. Consistently good food, charming decor, reasonable prices. Casual dining, but usually so packed there is a fear of not finding a table. You order at the counter and usually a long line. Noisy, busy but worth the great food!

We love comming here. Yummy egg salad sandwiches on good bread, delicious soups and salad. The good food, fun cafeteria style, and outside eating keeps this place busy every day they are open. Service is super friendly too - and don't get me started on the berry cobbler with ice cream!

I visited this deli on a very busy Saturday afternoon.Somehow we got there right before the lunch rush. Like many older businesses, this one has out grown it's capacity. There is one women's bathroom and there was a constant line to use it. The restaurant filled quickly and the noise level got pretty intense. But this is to be expected... More

The meatloaf sandwich was excellent, but the pastrami will not impress you if you are from the East Coast or a big city. They lost points in my book for using deli meat and not cooking their own turkey etc.
