We were lured to Frida's by the great reviews we had seen on Trip Advisor. I tend to think of myself as a bit of a Mexican Food snob, but we were encouraged to come in. The menu is so unique. Of course, they offer the usual enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, etc. But, don't waste the opportunity on one of the... More

We are so glad we decided to eat here. The service was fantastic..they have beautiful outdoor back patio seating. We live in Portland and this restaurant would compete with the best of them in Portland's foodie scene. The food-- nothing we had was bad .....the stuffed chicken was delicious, the appetizer of taquitos in a mortar with guacamole ( someone... More

As a local, I am amazed at the relative ratings of restaurants. Other, more highly rated, restaurants are simply not in the same league with Frida's. There is simply no comparison to the quality of food at Frida's with anywhere else in Anacortes, regardless of genre. Contrary to other comments, it is not expensive. Relatively speaking, it might be a... More

We came upon this cafe accidentally, and were so very glad we did. Delicious food, charming ambience, attentive service, and very reasonable prices. To top it off, we enjoyed a chocolate mousse cake that spoiled us forever.

I am no fan of the North American version of "Mexican" food and have learned that authentic Mexican food is a far cry from that generally messy and unappetizing concoction. My litmus test for authenticity when I walk into an unknown Mexican restaurant is if it offers any dishes that feature mole poblano sauce - the unique, rich sauce made... More

We attended this restaurant based on reviews and were not disappointed! We both had entrées that were variations on chile relleno's and they were excellent! Highly gourmet renditions of traditional recipes. The Cadillac margaritas were wonderful. And the guava cheesecake was light, refreshing and flavorful. Our servers were Liam, a wonderful attentive lad, and Gerardo, the co-owner, also very attentive... More

Coming from Southern California where there are all sorts of Mexican and South of the Border fare, I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I had gone whale watching with friends and they said this place came highly recommended to them. I can understand why! I love the Frida theme, and the vibe of the place. The menu had so... More

This is such a lovely place to have either a casual meal or a festive one. The food is simply delicious, beautifully presented and quite generous. Service is attentive and welcoming. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for the not so average American Mexican food.

We had dinner at Frida's on a Saturday night, party of 14. It was not very busy and we were seated in the bar area. The table next to us was a party of very loud laughing ladies. I thought, we're usually that party, but not that night. The food was Mexican food I'd never heard of before, I guess... More

We long for Frida's each time we goof up and visit a different Mexican restaurant. All their dishes have a specialty flare--even the burritos and enchiladas--with delicious mole sauce, no less. But the best and tastiest items you can't find on other Mexican menus. They offer a tasty rice, beans attractively served in a small taco shell and a really... More
