Took Amtrak from NYC and got off in Ashland. Who knew one of the best meals on my trip would be in this small town? This gem serves a variety of entrees and everyone will be able to find something good. The seasonal watermelon salad was absolutely outstanding and the entrees didn't disappoint at all. The server was able to... More

Very good brunch and atmosphere. Sat outside by tracks. Would definitely recommend for brunch, lunch or dinner. Can't believe we don't come here more often. Will remedy that going forward.

Had a wonderful, relaxed dining experience today. Meal was so delicious. And Greg, our waiter, provided excellent service.

I asked for fish grilled no topping. And asked how sides prepared. Went over with waiter twice. He said, no problem. Food came with topping and sautéed. Told him I couldn't eat it nor sides. Ate several bites, paid full price, waiter refused to accommodate and fix. And worse, he had terrible cold. After 18 years of going there, I... More

I was not impressed with Iron Horse. I was so excited with the location, in the middle of historical town of Ashland. My daughter and I showed up around 5pm and were informed that they did not offer the dinner menu until 5:30pm. We decided to have apps while we waited. I ordered a glass of wine for myself and... On a rainy Friday night, we ventured off the highway to let traffic calm down. What a find in the Iron Horse! We sat in the restaurant part (they have a bar) with a table by the window facing the street. The menu had a number of creative items including using lots of local ingredients (tomatoes, green beans, and watermelon).... More

Love to meet friends, grab a table outside and enjoy watching Ashland go by. The mussels are a MUST. Dipping the fresh crusty bread in the garlic and wine sauce while enjoying a nice glass of wine is a little bit of heaven. I also loved the salmon entrée on my last visit. We shared a cheese plate special appetizer... More

We have had ups and downs at the Iron Horse but this was a happy return. We came on a Saturday evening without reservations but were received and seated, even getting a nice outdoor table. We had a cheese plate to share which was very good but not enough crackers so we asked for extra bread to compensate. We had... More

We prefer the bar side, but if you go on a weekend evening, you have a band, which might be too loud for some (us). The food on the restaurant is pricier but good quality. Nice corner location on Main Street, and many opportunities to see trains pass by, Amtrak and freight!!

We arrived after the Strawberry Faire. We wanted a bottle of Moscato. Our server came back with something else because they were out promising we would love it. We didn't. Sent it back. The 2nd bottle was better but not great. We settled and later found out it was almost $40. The cheese plate we ordered was ok but the... More
