The food was excellent and geared toward the lovely fall weather. The pumpkin soup was outstanding as was the Ahi Yellow fin Tuna. The waitress was a little ditzy serving us the wrong wine for the second bottle, mixing the two wines in our glasses and she kept forgetting what we ordered! However, she was extremely pleasant and apologetic.

We stopped in AshlAnd without a clue as to where to stop. Had a very good lunch and an excellent dessert. Server was very busy so service is a bit slower than we like but no complaints. Would go back on our return trip North. Funky fun decor and very clean.

My wife, two daughters (16 and 13) and i went to Ashland for a meal on our way to Patrick Henry's home, Scotchtown. We actually were going to one of the top rated places to eat in Ashland, according to Tripadvisor, but found they close on Saturdays at 3 o'clock. We saw Iron Horse a block away and it seemed... Went to Ironhorse for lunch. Sat outside on a beautiful day. The waiter was polite and attentive. Everyone seated outside began to migrate inside because of the numerous honey bees swarming all around (we followed). From that point on, the service went straight downhill and when the food came out 20 minutes later it only got worse. The soup I... More

Stopped for dinner on a Friday night. There was a large party there so the kitchen was a little back up. They told us in advance and that was not a problem...we weren't in any hurry. Food was good...pot roast was very tender and chicken super juicy but a little salty. My complaint was the noise level...very hard to hear... More

After a day at the State Fair of Virginia beloved and I were looking for a nice place near our hotel for a nice meal. The Iron Horse fit the bill. If you like to watch the trains and the weather is cooperative, al fresco dining would be great. We chose to eat indoors, which was also quite nice. Our... More

we live in the area (<10 miles away) and eat here several times a year. The menu is never the same as the chef is searching for for locally sourced goodies for the kitchen. Yummy pumpkin soup last week.

I was here a few years ago and had a very nice dinner. Ate here on Saturday night and it was awful. The gnocci were burnt to the point of being inedible. Fried oysters were Ok, but my steak was completely forgettable. The server was nice, but forgott o put in half of our order. I will notbe going back.

Took Amtrak from NYC and got off in Ashland. Who knew one of the best meals on my trip would be in this small town? This gem serves a variety of entrees and everyone will be able to find something good. The seasonal watermelon salad was absolutely outstanding and the entrees didn't disappoint at all. The server was able to... More

Very good brunch and atmosphere. Sat outside by tracks. Would definitely recommend for brunch, lunch or dinner. Can't believe we don't come here more often. Will remedy that going forward.
