Nice little place

If you are a fan of trains come here. The Amtrak runs by quite often. We had asked for some veggies that were not on the menu and they came through. Parking is next door. This was our second time here. Will return

Visited with the family in the area. We had lunch and the food was excellent. The restaurant was crowed but seating was easily available. Service was very prompt given the number of people present. We parked across the street (and train tracks). There are pedestrian crossing points in the middle of the block for crossing the tracks. Be careful to... More

We visited Trackside with another couple and their grown daughter. The service was good and the food was decent. Parking would be a challenge if I didn't grow up nearby. The biggest complaint was the noise level was a tad high but not unbearable by any means. We would eat at Trackside again if in Ashland at dinner time. I... More

I have eaten here 3 times. The first time, there was more grizzle in the corned beef than beef. The second time, the fried shrimp were taking a swim in the juice from the green beans. The third I got the burger sliders, and those were very good.

Neat little place right on the railroad tracks in Ashland, Va. Interesting fact is the name does not come from the railroad it comes from the love of horse racing, according to the little bio on the menu. This is supported by the multitude of horse racing items hanging on the walls. This is not a fancy place but it... More

Had the breakfast burger. Comes with fried egg, cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Bun was good. Home fries were ok. Got the onion rings as app. They were frozen. Next time I'll try the hot dogs. Is eat here again. Sweet tea was good for Virginia tea.

We stumbled upon the Trackside Grill expecting the usual 'out of the deep fryer' processed food that most pubs have. What a pleasant surprise! We arrived quite late - only 15 min before the kitchen closed. Nevertheless, the staff were warm and welcoming and we never felt rushed. After driving 12 hours, we were famished, but did need some time... More

After eating at many places in the Ashland, VA area over the years, I decided to try the Trackside Grill. Upon entering, I really liked the look-and-feel of this place. It is somewhat larger than it looks from the street but actually has a lot of room inside while maintaining an intimate feel. I sat at the bar in the... More

The Trackside Grill provides cozy comfort in booths or at tables, a sense of history, friendly servers, and delicious meals. There are tvs, tuned to sports, but other than that the Trackside Grill has an enjoyable atmosphere within a building that can leave one feeling like one has stepped back into the times when trains and locations near them were...
