We recently went to Fords twice in the last few weeks to enjoy some happy hour time, but have learned why this is not a good idea. Apparently there are regulars that monopolize much of the bar and just get completely drunk and pester the other patrons. We experienced this first hand. The second time we went we decided to... Ford's fishshack is hands down the best restaurant in the area. Food is always fresh here and they have a great selection of menu items. I highly recommend the angry mussels!!

13 of us went to dinner this evening, we had everything from appetizers, salads, soup, drinks, main course and extra sides, we had two people at the table who celebrated birthdays this week, both grandmothers, we told the waiter and he said we could purchase 2 desserts and they would write 'happy birthday' on the plate, I asked why these... We had a 15-minute wait on a Thursday night but it was so worth it. Lobster roll sandwich with cole slaw, fish & chips, fried clams: ALL EXCELLENT! We were so hungry and so happy with the food. We had just come from a flight from California so the noise in the restaurant (people talking loud and music) was too... More

Good atmosphere, knowledgable staff. Good selection of interesting beers. The scallops and the Alaskan crabs legs were particularly good

This family owned restaurant is close to our home. We have been there at least 30 times and we are "foodies." We have been there for lunch, happy hour and dinner. The food is fantastic with a Maine inspired decor. Prices are very reasonable. The only downside is that the restaurant is small and the tables are close together so... More

I was pleasantly surprised to find 'real' seafood. This is no cookie-cutter, run of the mill seafood restaurant serving bland, overcooked fish. It was fresh and great quality. You can definitely taste the difference. I've been a couple of times now and have never been disappointed. The Maine Fried Seafood Basket with scallops and clams was especially yummy! I've also... We love this place, even though it's not as "classy" as some other venues. Never had a bad meal and willing to take out of towners as we're never surprised. Prices are more than fair. Waitstaff is mostly on their game.

My girlfriend and I both have New England roots and it's hard to find seafood places down in NoVA that compare to up North. This place comes pretty darn close though! We really loved everything we had, it brought back memories of being seaside in Maine. It is rather expensive so save it for a special occaision, but it's well... More

We went to Portland, ME a few years ago and got spoiled on lobster rolls, whole steamed lobsters and clams, We were looking for a local option and found Ford's Fish Shack. We love to sit at the bar for lunch on Saturday. The bartender at the Ashburn location is awesome, she always remembers our names and sometimes what we... More
