We had a promising start, we arrived early and were graciously seated. We peeked into the bar to see what appeared to be a lively scene. The space is nicely decorated. We were celebrating a birthday. I called the restaurant and they promised to put a candle on dessert. When they called on the same day to confirm our reservation,... More

Limited selection on the menu but exquisite taste. I had the green salad with shaved radishes and it felt it was just harvested from the garden, followed with an omelette with mushroom just as amazing.

Tallula is trying really hard but didn't hit the mark for me. The booth seats are uncomfortable and the dishes are so trendy they have forgotten that food is also supposed to nourish and satisfy. For example carrot salad is composed of anemic carrots standing at attention with buckwheat kernels sprinkled over the top. Carrots are tasteless and kernels are... More

My husband and I went with our teenage son for dinner here on a Sunday night. Tallula gets extra points for being one of the few restaurants open with the full menu on a Sunday night. The menu is varied and interesting, with unusual combinations that work surprisingly well. For example, my main course was a short rib with Asian... More

My husband and I met another couple for dinner this weekend, and had a great time. The food was terrific, there was a nice wine list and we were able to heard ourselves speak. We were sitting in a high back booth, which felt kind of private, but it was so nice to be able to have a conversation in... More

We absolutely LOVED this place. Arlington is not really known for a lot of great restaurants (there are a few) and we are constantly disappointed with the food in the Clarendon neighborhood. Most are just fine, not great. So we were so surprised and delighted to finally find a really great place in the area. We loved everything about it:... More

Love the concept of farm to table and try to support all farm to table restaurants. Consequently, I would love for this to be a glowing review, but it's not. On the up side, the service was great and the ambiance was nice. The food, however, fell short. We were there on a Monday, and early, and the chef was... More

Tried Tallula for the first time for Restaurant Week; good value given a la carte prices. Very good fried eggplant dish we had as appetizer. My scallops were delicious; husband's monkfish was buttery but not much other flavor; Dessert of peach cake and other of panna cotta was ok. I'm a dessert-oholic that these would not rank among the best... More

Visiting the DC area for a few days and had dinner here with some friends. Friendly service and a subdued atmosphere allowed for good conversation. Food was well prepared. Good selection of wines.

We love Tallula. Great menu with a southern flair that changes seasonally. Wine list is excellent. We've dined there several times through the years and have never been disappointed.
