Tapas worth the visit

Having just returned from a vacation in Spain, I must say that the tapas are not true to tradition. Nevertheless, the food here is really very good, as is the service. The Mediterranean paella is the way to go.

Jose Andres is a local legend in chefs, and he doesn't disappoint here. The problem I had is that it's a little pricey, which is typical in this area anyway. My two companions shared the expensive serrano ham which they said was good, but too little for $24.00 and the "croutons" on top were an odd touch. The gazpacho is... More

Delicious tapas in a beautiful setting. We had our wedding reception dinner here last year and the food was amazing! Since then, we've been back 3 times. The prices have increased and the consistency of the food is not as great as it used to be. Overall, the food is well-flavored and creative. It seems as if the portion sizes... More

We booked ahead prior to our visit to Washington, D.C. We were looking forward to savour authentic Spanish tapas at Jose Andres' restaurant. We went a few years ago. We were impressed with the level of service and that they had a menu with tapas that were safe for those with shellfish allergy. We went on Friday evening and the... More

Excellent lunch. Very good food and fantastic service. Restaurant is a little more upscale than most. Food is different and it uses fine cheeses and hams very well.

The dishes were ok, nothing outstanding or memorable..... but the sangria was wonderful! Just don't order a refill at the end of the evening...it comes sans fruit and is watered down a bit.

Amazing food and service. Sensitive to people with allergies. One of the finest restaurants; owned by a famous chef!

I've been going to this Jaleo every time I'm in DC for years. Three words: bacon wrapped dates. I could just sit and eat plate after plate of them all day. I tell anyone who's dining with me that they need to order their own, if they want any, because I do NOT share. Just give me some accompanying sangria... More
