Even thought Spanish Tapas was not a universal appeal to our group of 12, we all loved it! The servers did a great job helping us choose which dishes to share, and there was something for everyone...even the 12 year old with us! Fun and tasty!

I'm not a great tapas fan to begin with, I have to admit. I like to get more than a mouthful in a dish, although the variety is enjoyable (as opposed, for instance, to a big plate of pasta with each bite tasting the same). The food was good, but not great. I found some of it over-spiced and over-cooked....

With a small group of 10 ladies, we had attentive service and exceptional food during our weekday lunch and book club discussion. Some of us used the metro, while others parked in the garage (where 23rd street dead-ends into Crystal City Drive) and right across the street from the restaurant, since metered street parking is hard to come by on...

Jaleo is a total gem. It's modern interior makes it seem like an unlikely tapas restaurant, but it has the best choice of tapas I've ever seen and the best tasting ones, too. The sangria was also the best I've ever had - potent and flavourful. I can't say enough good things about the quality of the tapas here and...

We have been here several times and it has been excellent every time. Our server was friendly and informative and we were seated quickly. Virtually everything we tried (about 18 different dishes) was at least good, and some were outstanding (the marinated chicken, chicken fritters, cheese board, flamenquines). The shrimp in garlic sauce was a bit disappointing. The atmosphere was...

Our first impression was a little rocky. We were strolling along the sidewalk about close to 11:00 AM. The posted menu was interesting. We sat down at one of the outside tables to wait until they opened. A server came outside and with no other greeting said "We're not ready. We don't open until 11:30." It was a lovely day,...

I took my college age son to Jaleo as a reward for finishing the semester. While I have fairly simple food tastes in general, I was looking forward to the variety of dishes you can sample at this well known tapas restaurant. We went on a weeknight and arrived at 6:30 pm. There were only two of us and we...

Tried the chef's choice, reasonable price, had to stop counting courses. We received a meat plate, a cheese plate, bread and salad, then were brought to the main dishes, we tried everything they brought but were so full by dessert we had to stop them from bringing the second round. All the Tapas were excellent in themselves.
Went to Jaleo for late lunch and ordered the typical tapas, and we where a bit disappointed with the food. Not really authentic taste or texture, seems to be more of marketing than anything. Them place is alright but there is definitely a better Spanish restaurant in downtown DC that will blow this one out of the water.
We hosted our 25th wedding anniversary with a Tapas party at Jaleo and it was wildly successful. The wait staff were very hospitable and the restaurant worked with us to set up the menus and arrange the right types of food for a mixed audience of vegetarian and non vegetarian guests as well as to arrange the wine and spirits...
