I had eaten at Jaleo before but it had been 3-4 years. I wanted to take my 12 year old daughter to try Tapas on our visit to DC, so I went back to Jaleo in hopes that it would be as great as we remembered. I was not disappointed!! The service was great. Our waitress was very friendly with... More

I am a paella fanatic--full stop. If you want a great one, look no further than Jaleo. My wife and i went for the $20 paella Sunday special--soup, paella and dessert. It was a cold day so the soup was a winter squash one in stead of a cold gazpacho--much appreciated! Our server Beatriz was incredible--very kind, explained everything to... More

We walked here from our hotel. there were 16 of us. The restaurant was very busy and packed but we had reservations. It's a "sample" eating place, small plates (tapas)of everything BUT very good. Noise level very high which can't be helped in a busy restaurant. We had to ask twice for a few things; too busy!!!

I always think I am in Barcelona when I go to this bustling fun restaurant. It is always noisy but who cares? A great variety of hot and cold tapas plus entrees if anyone wishes. The wine is very good but reasonable. It is my favorite Spanish restaurant in the area.

Making a meal of tapas is not cheap, because you want to sample a lot of different ones. For a couple, 4-5 dishes is about what you'd want for a meal. The dishes were all good, although on the salty side. The special with tiny fried shrimp with eggs and potatoes; the was a nice surprise, the runiness of the... More

I live around the corner from this tapas restaurant and finally made it there for a late dinner with my roommate. She's eaten here a number of times before, so she would suggest a number of plates and I chose from those. We started with the quail, which was delicious, but the portions were minuscule. I probably wouldn't choose it... More

I have eaten at this Jaleo location several times over the past couple of years and the food remains top quality. Likewise the wine list. I am impressed with the quality of the spanish wines on the list, several of which are available by the glass. The dining room service has steadily declined with each visit, however. It was so... I take all of my visitors here. I love tapas and this restaurant never disappoints me. To top that off, they have a variety of my favorite Jerez (sherrys) AND a place to buy them. If you have never had tapas, this is the place to learn about them. I've eaten at the DC Jaleo, but prefer the space and... More

We were at a convention hosted at the Hyatt Regency - Crystal City & we wandered down the street & found this tapas restaurant. We liked it so much that we went there twice over the week. The happy hour was reasonable. The regular drink prices were steep (but probably average for the DC area). Our favorite drink was the... More

Jaleo is perennially good. Great for happy hour or large groups. Lots of good food and drink options. I've been going for years and the quality never wavers.
