this is my new mexican restaurant in Arlington

I've been here twice, and I'll keep coming back. Nice to have an authentic tex-mex taste. Both times my meals were delivered quickly, and were very tasty. I like my food a little spicier, but their level of spice probably appeals to a wider audience in the Northeast. It is busy, and the draft... read more

Colorful decorations and atmosphere with wait staff laughing and joking among themselves and enjoying glimpses of football on the flat screen. All this without dropping a beat regarding service. They look like they love their jobs and they are an asset to this restaurant. We came for an earlyish dinner thinking the parking lot may not accommodate us later. No... More

The El Paso Cafe bills itself as a Mexican restaurant; it's not. The food is actually Central American. Having said that, the service is always good; the food is always fresh and well-prepared and the portions are fair-sized. Dining here is a nice, predictable experience; not stellar, but always good, for what it is.

This used to be a sleepy tanqueria with a reasonable priced menu with the standards for Mexican fare. Mariachis used to play one night a week. I guess they are trying to expand their market and so the menu is much larger now, prices have gone up, and they have tequilia tastings weekly. We were sad (for us, but happy... More

El Paso Cafe is an institution in the Buckingham neighborhood. Just south of the Glebe/Pershing intersection, it is known for its authentic food and atmosphere. The wait staff is attentive and efficient, weaving between tables packed close together to accommodate the large parties that frequent the cafe, especially on weekends. I always get one of the soups, beef or chicken,... More

We went on a weeknight, wasn't very crowded. Our food came out quickly and it was hot. Our waiter was okay, we had to ask for refills, silverware, etc. I prefer to go elsewhere.

This is the BEST Tex-Mex n Virginia but I dont enjoy dining with the band playing. We've called in the past to double check but didn't this visit. Lesson learned! Please go to this establishment but know you may not be able to have a conversation This restaurant gets all 5s without the band

The food is very good, the atmosphere friendly but it's the margaritas that keep us going back time and again. El Paso has a pretty standard menu and always produces excellent quality dishes in portions large enough that we've never needed dessert. The drinks menu isn't huge but everything we've tried has been excellent, from the draught beers to the... More

I had not been here for several years after moving of the country, but returned and the food is still good! The chips and salsa are great, and everything I have ever ordered has been as expected and delicious. Service is friendly and fast and prices are about average for the area.

This is a local spot with a small-town, small-place vibe to it. You'll like it. Servers friendly, professional & prompt. The drinks are good. It's noisy when busy, you'll have to speak with a raised voice so your dining companion can hear you, but it's not deafening like some places. Prices are about right for Arlington, not crazy Clarendon pricing.... More
