I had not been here for several years after moving of the country, but returned and the food is still good! The chips and salsa are great, and everything I have ever ordered has been as expected and delicious. Service is friendly and fast and prices are about average for the area.

This is a local spot with a small-town, small-place vibe to it. You'll like it. Servers friendly, professional & prompt. The drinks are good. It's noisy when busy, you'll have to speak with a raised voice so your dining companion can hear you, but it's not deafening like some places. Prices are about right for Arlington, not crazy Clarendon pricing.... More

We've been to dozens of Tex-Mex and Mexican restaurants in the DC metro area. We love this food genre and it's definitely our preferred choice when dining out. We had heard positive reviews about El Paso Cafe from friends and co-workers. We had also heard that former President Bush (the 43rd) had visited El Paso Cafe multiple times while in... More

I've been to this place with teachers for an afternoon happy hour, with clients for consulting dinners, with my family for celebrations and with my husband for date nights. The service is always "just enough" (not interrupting us, but always there when you need it) and even when my kids have been LOCO (not eating, overtired, spilled water) they help... More

Love the pupusas here and the chicken enchiladas. G. W. Bush ate here, and so they had to susped the chair he sat in off the ceiling because people kept trying to steal it. It's in the hood, but it's really good.

Service is spotty at times and heaven help you when they are really busy, but the food is worth it. You should try whatever you are in the mood for; the food is that good. I have been here many times and brought lots of friends... always enjoyed it. The Costillas (juicy rack of ribs) are to die for and... More

Dined with a colleague here for lunch. We've been trying different things on the menu, trying to find a bad dish--so far, no luck--they're all good. The three tacos are a bit juicy, but good nonetheless. The carne asada my colleague had made her lick her lips and clean her plate. The pollo asada is also good. About the only... More

Stopped by on a Sunday evening while staying at the Westin down the road. Live Mexican music added to the authentic atmosphere. Burritos were tasty and the Margaritas excellent. Recommended.

I've been here twice now. Once for carryout and once for sitdown. The carryout was kind of so-so, and I almost didn't go back, but I'm glad I did. The salsa is different than your normal Tex-Mex restaurant, but in a good way. It's got a nice smokey flavor to it. The chips were light and crunchy. Beef enchiladas are... More

I lived in Arlington for almost 8 years and was lucky enough to find El Paso early on. I moved away from the area and I definitely miss El Paso more than any other restaurant. My wife and I were frequent visitors (probably going every 3 weeks or so). We normally found the service to be friendly and always found... More
