I am particularly fond of the pizzas, but really Liberty Tavern has something for everyone. The evening we were there, they offered a special octopus ceviche which on of my friends enjoyed. For happy hour, the first floor is quite fun and lively.

Last night I dined a Liberty Tavern with business colleagues. I had a very good squid in linguini pasta (but some of the seafood was overcooked). There was a good source of local beers and the service was excellent. Most importantly they were graciously able to accommodate dietary needs (e.g. vegetarian, gluten free). The atmosphere is open brasserie style but... More

I've had lunch twice now at the Liberty Tavern in Clarendon and it's been special each time! Very friendly service and the menu is varied with interesting combinations of flavors, as well as the classics. Shop down one side of Clarendon, refuel at Liberty Tavern, and then shop up the other side for a girls day out!

Stopped in for a business lunch. Ordered a beer and Cubano Pannini. Damn glad I did. Fantastic sandwich (the lick your plate kinda sandwich) - and the red-skin potato salad was a delicious accompaniment. Parking in the Clarendon area of Arlington is limited... try a side street. My colleagues also raved about their fares - panini, salad and lobster roll.... More

The Sunday brunch was exceptional: a wide selection of beautifully presented food, all of which was delicious and pleasing to the vegetarian, the wheat/gluten intolerant, and the omnivore alike. Of particular note were full flavored fresh fruit, good salads, delicious deviled eggs, smoked salmon with trimmings, a beef carving station, well-crafted pizza, exemplary fried chicken, scrambled eggs two ways, extra... Liberty prides itself on its locally sourced menu which changes with the seasons. I've eaten there a few times over the past few years and had far more hits than misses. They've introduced me to be too new veggies and fish. Can be busy and tends to be noisy.

Returned to Liberty Tavern after a fabulous initial visit and found it as good as the first time. Their cheese selection is exceptional - a great start. The pork tenderloin entree is terrific and the pizzas were also great. They had a Stone IPA on tap, which complemented the meal perfectly. And our server, Tony, was knowledgeable, friendly and charming.

We were there on a Thursday evening around 7:30pm. Thanks to earlier reviews, I knew there was an upstairs that wasn't as noisy as the bar at ground level. But even upstairs, it was hard to hear each other. Food was very good. It just depends on how much you can adapt to the noise. We had "entrees" only... The... More

I've been coming to Liberty Tavern for years and recently went there to celebrate my birthday. The service was excellent. We started with two pizzas- and both were tasty. The main attraction for me was the gnocchi. They used to be small pillows of love and now they are larger and don't have the same flavor. I once tried to... More

If you just want to be seen and don't care about prices or the food, then head for the Liberty Tavern. It's not the place for family dining. We went there for my 10 year old grandson's birthday because he wanted the octopus appetizer, which he enjoyed. But of you're looking for a basic restaurant menu, forget it. When I... More
