This restaurant is nestled in the Roslyn area - just a very short walk from the Rosslyn Metro Station. Although in the typical old Arlington style of neighborhood "strips," Mele (its new name about 1 yr ago) is a mainstay of this area. It received very high ratings from Yelp and Trip Advisor and the Best Italian in Arlington reviews,... More

I stumbled across this restaurant as it was conveniently located near a place I needed to visit. Parking was not a problem. I was surprised that entering at noon we were the only diners for lunch. The decor was pleasant and rustic; a mixture between NY loft and French country inn. You realize soon that this is a different place:... More

Mele Bistro, formerly Corner Bistro, has truly excellent food with emphasis on fresh and organic ingredients. My first meal there was so impressive that I went back two nights later. The owner is gracious and welcoming and the staff is enthusiastic and friendly but needs training. More later. The Greek salad was well done and the portion large. The bread... More

Stopped by as it was lunch time. Located through Trip Advisor. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. I had a light lunch. The restaurant had a very good menu including "small plates" which I think is a good idea. I ordered from that and had baby bluefish. It was quite good and the right amount for a light lunch. Creme burlee for dessert,... More

I visited this establishment when it was the Village Bistro and, frankly, don't recall much about it. Since then the owner has change the ambiance and menu ... now providing unusual materials and surfaces in the dining room and ladies washroom (don't know about the gents washroom) along with unsual parings on the menu. Fresh ingredients are a part of... More

It is now named Mele. The atmosphere is nice and service is prompt. The little missteps were things like the salt and pepper shakers not dispensing either salt or pepper. This made the next missteps worse since the lack of good carmelization on my lamb burger and lack of seasoning on lukewarm, limp fries made them seem tasteless. These are... More

The meal begins with an enthusiastic display and discussion by the owner of the freshest fish you will find outside of a place next to a harbor. My son and I enjoyed specials of the day and enjoyed every bite. Everything is fresh and the seasonings sublime. Nice wine selections are available and the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. Highly... More

I hadn't been to Village bistro since last year, since their renovation and was very pleasantly surprised. Went in for a light dinner early on Sunday with a friend. Sat at the newly made bar which is made of a beautiful wood top with a marble base. The barman was extremely friendly and efficient. Had a fabulous meal of mussels... More

Unfortunately Village/Mele Bistro lacks good service and management. We were seated immediately, only to be ignored for 15 mins. until I finally asked the water person for menus. After another 15 minutes I had to get up and find someone to order drinks. It was the owner who finally took our drink order. Again, another long wait before our drinks... More

PROs: 1. Food tastes amazing! (I had a unique fish I can't even remember the name of and escargot). 2. Largest selection and quality of fresh fish I've seen in one place. 3. Entrees can be ordered in two sizes. The smaller, regular option was plenty for me with a salad. CONs: 1. Menu can be overwhelming. 2. Food is... More
