Date Visited: 7 July 2014 Time: ~ 7:00 PM How does one rate a restaurant higher than a five on Trip Advisor? During our two-week trip out east, we have had many fine dinners. Prior to this night, we ate at 44 1/2 in NY and it was the best meal ever. This meal, however, exceeded all expectations. The Village... More

The Village Bistro is a friendly place where you feel sincerely welcomed. The food is excellent, the fish is fresh, and the owner takes great delight in explaining the specials of the day. I love the fabulous plates, which differ according to the type of meal. Their wine list is good and fairly prices. If you're lucky, the owner will... More

You'd be well advised to make reservations at this charming, seafood-centric resto with casual style and wonderful, fresh food. The wine list is very good, too. One of our favorite semi-special-occasion places, great for a leisurely dinner (good service! Just a relaxing evening). It can get a tad noisy but not off-putting.

We've been here five or six times, and always loved the food. They fly in deliciously prepared freshly caught seafood every day, so that part of the menu changes, but the other items on the menu also are very good, in particular the "Bistro Calimari" which makes a great appetizer for two. The service can sometimes be quirky, if always... More

I've been to this restaurant many times. The owner, Franco, comes by and greets you. He takes great pride in the imported marble and decor. Ladies, check out the restroom....wow... stunning. All the seafood is fresh within 24 hours, flown in from all ports. If you are in a hurry, don't go there. The service is laid back for you... More

I love to eat alfresco and this place was the restaurant for that. Good food, a beautiful evening and my hubby eating outside (which he does not like).

My two companions and I were warmly greeted for a late dinner on a Sunday evening. A very enthusiastic server spent more than 10 minutes describing the freshness of the fish (which sounded wonderful, but did not live up to his lofty claims) and the impeccable quality of the pastas. Cut to the chase: the bread was warm and generous... More

My wife, two adult children and I had dinner on a busy Saturday night, having an excellent meal and dining experience all around. The restaurant goes by two names -- Village Bistro from long-time operation, and the more recent Mele Bistro from the new management that's taken over in the last couple of years -- so you may see reviews... Have eaten there when it was Village Bistro and found the food prepared with care. But recently tried again. Got a table outside set on such a slant that olive oil spilled from the bread plate. After three requests for a waiter to pick up a cocktail order, no one appeared. We walked out without dinner, very disappointed in the... More

We came here with the grandchildren. The staff was extremely accommodating, the food was delicious and attractively presented and there were items on the menu that were child-friendly.
