Surprisingly good

We've dined at Sawatdee twice, once with friends and now as a couple only. Our first experience was uninspiring, but we think mostly as a result of the dishes ordered - lemon chicken, for example. Our recent visit was much better. The green curry chicken, drunken noodles with shrimp and chicken... read more

My friends love it, so I thought why not. I will return once a week, I'm craving it all the time. The taste is wonderful and it's got a good kick, i enjoy spicy food. The servers are sweet, and the food takes a while but totally worth the wait.

After reading other reviews, I was disappointed in the quality of the food. Convenient to metro and good service.

Extensive menu and will do things to order. Our large group was served quickly and all at the same time for the most part. Nothing fancy, but good food and good price.

Sawatdee is a quaint Thai restaurant in Arlington, Virginia. Nice, bright dining room and bar area, all very clean and tastefully decorated to offer the guests a welcoming ambiance. The menu offers a wide choice of appetizers and main courses. The staff is friendly and attentative. I'd define the food quality as "tasty" and though I have had better Thai... More

Very attractive restaurant with extensive menu, but very few healthy options for vegetarians and pescetarians. Most of the appetizers were fried. Nonetheless, my guest and I both found items that we wanted and liked. Most annoying was a $2.00 per person upcharge for substituting white rice for brown rice, even though we both ordered entrees. This seems excessive.

Whenever I order Thai food I always get the fresh vegetarian spring rolls and fresh tofu in my curry. This restaurant had neither, so my spring rolls were fried, as well as the tofu. Of course fried food is delicious, just know that you can't get a healthier option here. The price was high but that's the norm for the... More

Great experience! I had never tried Thai food before and boy I was NOT disappointed! I had the Drunken Noodles with chicken for lunch and it was great, a little spicy but thats what I like! The service was great and I enjoyed the visit. If back in the area I would go back to this restaurant again and would... More

Pro: 1. My lunch service was excellent. Seated quickly, a server came by withing minutes, my water glass was filled several times, by bill arrived quickly when I was done. That's what you need for lunch. 2. My Pad-Ga-Pow with chicken was delicious, and I didn't lick up all the sauce only out of fear of getting something on my... More

I have been to this restaurant before and enjoyed the food. Here on business I took a group of my friends to this for good Thai food. It was lunch time, yet the place did not have a lot of other patrons. Our party of 5 sat and a short time later the waitress took our drink order. It took... More
