Good and bad

Went to Rays to celebrate a birthday, they try to portray themselves as an upscale steak house, but can't char a steak. They have a bar, but no shakers or martini glasses. So if you don't want a pre-dinner martini or a Pittsburgh style steak, this is the place for you.Service is very good.

I chose this restaurant to invite our hosts on our last night as guests in their home. I chose it for several reasons (menu, location, accesibility). Coincidentally, it happened to be our hosts' favorite steak restaurant. And I know why: great food, very friendly, helpful service, relatively reasonable prices, and one block away from the Metro station. Even if you... More

I really like Ray's the Steaks. Their meats are great and they know how to cook them properly. Side dishes are awesome and simple. I'd go back to Ray's in a heartbeat since the price isn't crazy and yet the food is fab.

We made reservations on a Monday evening and needed them. They had a variety of steaks at reasonable prices. The steaks and sides were fantastic. I would highly recommend this steak house.

Some of the best steak you will ever eat. Not to mention the service is 5 star. My husband and son had the 28oz. bone in rib eye, dry aged for 60 days. I had the 7oz. Filet. Both were cooked to perfection and the flavors were exceptional. I also recommend the Mac and cheese, which is made with cheddar,... More

We have eaten there twice now and food was very good. Our waiter was very helpful and pleasant. Good place to come and enjoy a good steak. Gets crowded so get there early.

We were recommended to Rays by a local hotel concierge and by family that lives in DC. Ray's exceeded our expectations and turned out to be a good visit all the way around. I'd recommend a reservation, it was pretty busy Friday evening so I could only imagine a Saturday night. The menu started a great conversation, the cuts of... More

A colleague of mine recommended Rays and I drove over from Alexandria while on a business trip. Fair to say that my colleague is no longer allowed to recommend steak houses anymore. Fair enough, I live in Dallas so the bar for a good steak is fairly high. The 7 oz ribeye I got was tiny, likely about 4.5 oz... More

This was ours second visit here. thE beef rib eye bone in was awesome! It was aged for 60 days! We had a group of 10 and everyone enjoyed their steaks. I ordered the herb, garlic grilled shrimp which had an amazing flavor but them shrimp were overcooked making thems tough. The crab bisque was wonderful.

I've been here twice. The most recent visit is the subject of this review. We met here for a dinner meeting in a private room. We had some of everything off the appetizer entree and dessert menu. Service is good (not stellar) and the food a bit overrated. A definite fav is the lobster mac and cheese. A few in... More
