After reading great reviews about Rays, we decided to treat our boys to some great steak. Too bad it wasn't great! Loud atmosphere and poor service made us feel like we were dining at a Ponderosa not a high end steak house.

Beside the steak was tender as we ordered but no left impression. The waitress made it clear that "no substitute" for the side dishes of marsh potato and spinach which were creamy and fatty. We made a mistake of ordering scallop that was smelly and tasteless. The host was cold. The waitress was friendly enough but not attentive since she's... More

I prefered rays over BLT. The sides were yummy and everything about the place was authentic and down to earth. Dont expect fusion frills just straight forward steak. Thats what makes it worth the visit.

Ray Landrum is a steak perfectionist and I'm so happy to live near his restaurants. His food quality and prices have been unbeatable since he opened his first place many years ago and continue to shine. Ruth's Chris, The Palm, Morton's and others (even Peter Luger in NYC) charge twice as much for meat that is not as good but... More

We've been going to Ray's the Steaks since it was located in the strip mall in Rosslyn years ago. Ray's consistently served really excellent quality steaks, always prepared to the exact request and extremely reasonably priced. I'm very picky about the done-ness of my steak and few restaurants get it right the first time, let alone consistently. At Ray's I've... More

I was impressed with the complimentary sides, although I ordered additional sides with my colossal lump crab. My meal was delightful.

A terrific restaurant. You go here for the meal. No ambience, but excellent service, extensive wine list, reasonably priced at. Side dishes are served family-style. The steaks are the reason for the choice to come here. Very good. This is the place we go to celebrate a birthday or introduced meat-eater guests to a good experience. We have never been... More

I had one of the best medium rare steak over there with a good red. I like it there. The atmosphere was ok, the service not bad.

I was in town for Labor Day and really looked forward to enjoying a great steak near the capitol...WRONG!!!! The steak was not horrible, but just not good! Sides were terrible and somewhat cold. Service was not great either. Overall the cost was reasonable which tells me this is an average restaurant trying to pass itself off like an upscale... More

I had as good a steak here as anywhere I've eaten. Wife had salmon that was very good as well. Decent wine list. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Creamed spinach served family style in a warm skillet was outstanding. Atmosphere was simple but comfortable. Will return.
