Nothing especially wrong but nothing especially superior

Good happy hour specials. The house margarita on the rocks was delicious! The chips and guacamole/salsa were also tasty.

This place is good for drinks when the weather is nice. I wouldn't bother having dinner here though.

Expanded from the original size. Indoor and outdoor seating. A variety of appetizer and entrée selections - not many vegetarian options. Servings are hearty portions. Beer selection. Daily food specials. Happy hour specials.

Went for a quick lunch the other day. But neither the fish tacos nor the shrimp over rice were anything distinctive.

In the mood for some good solid Mexican-Salvadoran food? Maybe it’s Thursday night and you want to meet friends for some margaritas, guacamole and people watching? If you’re in Clarendon, you need to try Mexicali. This casual restaurant simply serves great delicious food and drinks. I often order the carne asada (they do great meats) but for this visit ordered... More

Went here with friends currently living in DC. Had the tacos (chicken, steak, shredded beef). Gotta say the beef was the best. The beans and rice were also very good complements to the meal. Got a lot of food considering it was not very expensive.

The traditional burrito is on special on Tuesdays and you can wash it down with a special on Coronas. Good weather makes for a crowded sidewalk seating area with a great view of the sidewalk from the inside in the winter.

I met a friend here for lunch. My expectations weren't high, mainly because it is advertised as serving two different types of cuisine - Mexican and Salvadorian. My expectations were blown away. The food was great! I ordered from the Salvadorian specialties - a pork & cheese papusa and Juana's tamal with chicken. Both were very good and inexpensive. The... More

Went Friday night with a large group. Hostess did a great job making room for us. we sat in the back corner near the bar which was perfect for our gathering- separate enough so everyone could get to know each other and socialize without interruptions or annoying other guests but near enough to receive great attention from the waitstaff. Our... More
