I went there with some friends after a meeting. It is a frequent gathering place for them. The location is fairly convenient, with plenty of parking. It is clean and well lighted, and not very noisy. The food was quite good -- nice presentation, good flavor, and proper temperature. We stayed and chatted for a good while, and didn't feel... More

We did this place as part of our DDD destination tour. The place is really attractive, inside and out. It seemed pretty clean, and I will start with the BEST part - the gorgeous deserts and pastries when you walk in. They are as pretty as any I have ever seen in Europe, and we sampled a few - some... Of all the diners, Nautilus in Crofton, MD, Double T in Annapolis, etc., Metro 29 is my favorite. The problem for me is that I'm not in Arlington very often. But, we happened to be in the area, and it was lunchtime, so we had to stop in. We had a great lunch. I had the chicken salad triple decker... More

One can have anything they want at this diner. Steaks, fish, Italian, hamburgers, salads, omelets, and American classics. What a menu! And the desserts are nothing short of remarkable. In fact, you will have dinner for the following night since portions are huge. Got to get lucky with the parking however but you must try this fabulous diner for amazing... More

I’ve patronized the Metro 29 Diner, near the intersection of Lee Hiway and Glebe Road in Arlington, since its opening over twenty years ago and highly recommend it. The diner is spacious, the staff very courteous, and the food is well prepared and presented. There are two issues. One is limited parking. It would be a nice gesture by the... More

The menu is like a phone book; they have everything on there. I've always been in for breakfast items, and the French toast is fabulous, as are the pancakes. The decor is somewhat retro, and the service is good. It's a great late night or early morning place to get a bite for sure.

I went to this diner last sunday for for breakfast. My friend and I both ordered the french toast. The french toast was fantastic, possibly the best i have ever had. I will definitely come back but probably will just get the french toast again.

Couldn't have had a better breakfast! Everything you want from a perfect diner - service is friendly and efficient and menu offers a ridiculous variety. Breakfast was superb - the challah French Toast was enough to feed 2 or 3 people but I would do it all over again as it was absolutely delicious! My husband had the corn beef... More

We were traveling around looking for a place to get breakfast and noticed a "shiny" building-A DINER! It was a great breakfast location. The service was adequate (forgot to bring orange juice). The food was good-waffle, eggs and bacon-can't miss!

We like to support neighborhood venues. However after grumbling about Metro 29's prices and so-so food, we stopped going for over a year. Last night we decided to try it again and our wallet is still aching. The menu prices posted on this site are woefully out-of-date. Most all dinner entrees are around $27 (without tax and beverage). If you're... More
