A little gem....

I was taken here by friends in the area while I was on vacation. I love Lebanese & Syrian food and this place stacks up with the best of them! I asked for Mujaddara, and although not on the menu, they usually do offer it. The owner suggested "FREEKEH" which was fantastic! For those of you not... read more

Very welcoming, homey little spot next to an animal hospital and across from a Safeway. You'll be treated like family on your second visit ... and there will be a second visit, if only to see the busiest decorations in Arlington -- yet it all works. All the lamb dishes are superb. For two, trying getting 4 or 5 appetizers... More

My wife lived in Arlington for over 17 years and then moved to the Midwest. Before she moved, we went to Layalina several times and always enjoyed it. We traveled back to the D.C. area over the Labor Day holidays and decided to go back to Layalina. We were not disappointed. The food is superb. I do not eat meat... More

I used to go here frequently with a good friend. We had not been back in about two years. We agreed that is has slipped quite a bit but couldn't say exactly why. Maybe the husband and wife aren't as actively present anymore. But it is still a good choice for atmosphere and Middle Eastern food. Nicly decorated, linen table... More

Bottom Line Up Front, if I were to pass by this place again and was hungry, I would go in. We visited impromptu around 8 or 9 in the evening. Fairly unoccupied, they had a couple of people in there smoking hooka (which I did not find objectionable at all). Service was courteous and nonintrusive. Food was average. It was... More

There are few places to match Layalina's in the DC area. It isn't glitzy. The waiters wear what they want. Yet they remember whether you asked for water, no ice, or not. What to order. The mazzas are all very good. Hard not to get the Pomegrabnate Hommos. I have tried several times NOT to order it, but can't. Salads... More

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth the asking price. Also, service seemed very sporadic. We had awkwardly long waits for water refills and the check.

I was using a discount coupon and did takeout: ordered online and the food was ready exactly when it was supposed to be. I ordered the Moussaka and it was mediocre (no standout in terms of flavoring). The accompanying rice was cooked well. Accompany pita was average at best. Compared to a visit to the restaurant about 8 years ago,... More

Having read the review on this website I decided to try this place but I can't say that I was too impressed. Food was OK but lacked the flavour you would expect from Middle Eastern food though the bread was excellent. Service was fast but felt somewhat awkward.
