Nice bar....That's about it.

No one goes to Hunan for the food. People go to Hunan around 10 o'clock at night to get cheap drinks and dance. The staff is nice and attentive, though it gets pretty loud the closer to last call. The food is decent, but I wouldn't go there just to get food. They got rid of a lot seating, so... read more

I went here for a happy hour with a group of friends. We met in the very dark back room where there is a separate bar, with plenty of tables and open space for mixing and mingling. Actually, the set-up is nice but it needs to have better light, especially for serving food. The beer on tap is limited and... More

It's like someone appended a dive bar to an "Asian-inspired" (not Chinese) restaurant. The place is dark and the food - well, not terribly good. Went there for Paint Nite with friends and had dinner beforehand, otherwise would have never gone. Plenty of other choices in the area. Avoid if you want something other than barely passable.

Food was not bad, but just average. Place was dark. The Peking duck was not bad. However, service was lacking at the end and then great confusion over payment. Charged table next to me on my card then did a void and then did a bill. Turns out when I got home remembered that it was supposed to be half... More

I wanted some sushi and looking for delivery. While it's not high end, it is certainly a step up from the food court sushi at the mall. Friendly delivery driver and it's been consistent each time I order. I am concerned however that it doesn't seem to be the freshest fish in the sushi. The tuna looks pretty pale. But... More

Years ago, I went to Hunan Number One quite often. The good was terrific and the service was good. A few weeks back, I revisited the restaurant for lunch with co-workers only to find all the décor gone and that the place was basically stripped down to the concrete floor. Jagermeister and beer signs were hung all over and the... More

Far better spots in Arlington. The place just is a waste of money and time. My food came out late, cold and undercooked. To top it off, the place was filled with loud drunks and people were smoking in the bathroom. Gross.

Now it's a meat market and pick up spot and it used to be more of a family restaurant with reliably good food. The food is more of an afterthought now

We lived in Arlington from 1992 to 2001 and ate here regularly. It's still there. Decor is a little dated, but food was great. Wonderful hot and sour soup - something we have whenever we eat Chinese. Moo shu chicken was very fresh which is not always the case. And kung pao chicken was spicy and good. Looking forward to... More
