I came here yesterday for dinner and today for lunch! The food in each case was simply excellent and prepared to perfectly to our specifications. In each case we called ahead and got the seating area we wanted. The combo of crab cakes and filet mignon was beyond excellent. It was prepared perfectly and what a great combination! Others in... I would have rated this restaurant excellent but they have changed a few menu items and I was quite disappointed. One of the main reasons I dine here besides the delectable dessert are the warm fried, doughy, round balls of goodness that are no longer served with the other bread. *Le sigh* the dinner and the service was wonderful!

Went last night and without a doubt, had the best service I have ever had in a DC Northern Virginia restaurant. Phenomenal service, great food. Call while on the way for prioritized seating. They seated families with kids in offset areas so not to disturb other customers. That was appreciated. $100 for three meals and appetizer. We will be back.

The menu offers a wide choice of dishes and each one I've tried has been delicious! The wait staff has always been pleasant and very helpful. It can get very busy so a call ahead to say you are on the way is usually a good idea to avoid a long wait at peak times. Try the light and yummy... More

My husband and I are foodies and we love the food and experiences at the Carlyle Grand Cafe. Their chicken dish is the best choice and the desserts are simply wonderful.

Nice atmosphere. Yes, calling ahead works well. We were on the early side 5:30pm, and there was a wait if we had not called. It was a fish night as my party ordered the Pecan Crusted Trout ($18); the roasted Scallop entree ($22) and the Flounder Picatta ($22). The scallop entree was served on a chowder like broth and mashed.... More

I decided to visit my old neighborhood yesterday for a meal. I ordered the Lobster Roll, despite the market price. The menu promised 1lb of lobster in the roll, so I ordered. What came was a puny white roll stuffed to the gills with shredded lettuce and merely 2 tablespoons of lobster meat on top. $21 for this plate of... More

We have dined here many times and it is always the same high quality food, service and ambiance in a lively atmosphere. We have dined here as a couple out for a romantic dinner, or with friends and family in parties of 3 to 8. Their high standards are always maintained in food and service. We especially love the crabcakes,... More

I was told by some faculty at the Episcopal High School that this place was very nice, good food and always consistent. The Carlyle Cafe was just that. From our bread basket, salads, apps and entrees, they were all consistent. Our server did her job well. Everything was prepared as requested and well left very content.
