This restaurant was close to our hotel. It looked like a nice little Italian place so we decided to eat there. The first thing I noticed was that there was no aroma. I've never been to an Italian restaurant with no smell of the delights to come. The salad was just bagged salad mix, no cucumber, no tomato. I had... More

This was our first trip to DC, there on business/fun 6/11-6/15. I had this restaurant on my list to make sure we had at least one meal. It was just a very short walk from our hotel. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was very “Italia décor” and quite cute. Like a little café in Italy. Our waitress was... More

Fantastic food and service. We were staying in a hotel in Crystal City and Cafe Italia was a short 3 block walk. Best part, no struggling to find a parking spot!!! Food and service were fantastic. We started out with an appetizer of calamari which I thought was a little over done as it was rubbery. It was still good,... More

This restaurant is sandwiched between a number of other cafes, serving various national foods, and across from the Portofino Italian restaurant, so you have a lot of alternate choices if you decide that you don't like the menu here. Access is very good, parking is somewhat of an issue, but there is a large parking garage around the corner next... More

The menu and décor are quintessentially Italian food restaurant in a movie. The tablecloths and other decorations remind me of any Italian restaurant movie scene. There isn't much to say unless you have never eaten at such a restaurant. The service on my visits has varied. On this most recent trip the server was a little slow, and I actually... More

Neighborhood Italian Restaurant, close to the hotels in Crystal City. Great service and a good selection of wine. Good selection of Italian dishes and specials. I had the spaghetti with meatballs which was good, but I've had better. The sauce was a little watery and meatballs were just plain. My wife enjoyed her meal. Great bread. Small restaurant with good... More

I love this place. Nice staff and good food. I had the Steak Marsala and it was very well done. The Marsala Sauce was excellent. I also had a caprese salad which was good and of course the bread was excellent. My waitress recognized me and she was outstanding as all the staff is here. Thanks Cafe Italia

We were in DC for the weekend and found this gem. It's a small intimate restaurant. We started out with a salad, crisp and fresh. I had the jumbo shrimp primavera. The sauce was flavorful and the portion plentiful. My boyfriend had the baked salmon pescatore. He said the sauce had just the right amount garlic so that it wasn't... More

I get to D.C. several times a year and always try to get a meal at Cafe Italia in Crystal City. It's a short Blue Line ride from downtown. My first time was in the 80's and I was looking for a Thai restaurant. Cafe Italia is located in a strip mall with five or six other ethnic cafes. They... More

Being in DC for the holidays. my son and I returned for our New Year's Day Feast. I must admit to being partial to smaller family owned/operated restaurants with character. Our friend Ana has moved on, but our friend Ben is still there. We could not ask for better service from Ben. We had a reservation for the last 8:00pm... More
