Good Traditional Italian

Great Classic Italian menu. Superb wine and beer selection. Food is outstanding with reasonable quantity size - good value. Service is very good. They have built their reputation over the years and work to maintain it. Will definitely repeat.

Party of four left satisfied! Two of us had the meatball bolognese, it was lovely, very tender meatballs. I had the eggplant parmigiana the sauce was a lovely marinara. The eggplant was cooked perfectly. One other had a Tortellini in a marinara cream sauce. The sliced garlic bread was toasted and tasty. We will definitely come back, when in town.

Location, location, location. I've always had good luck at this restaurant perhaps due to the fact that I am invariably flying later in the evening from National and after a day working in DC, I am more than looking forward to a decent meal and a glass of wine. Menu choices are broad enough to satisfy most and I've never... More

My wife and I went here about 8:30pm. We just wanted a small bite to eat. We ordered a small pizza. The pizza was decent, but nothing special. The service was awkward. They have an outdoor seating area with a sign that says "go inside to be seated". We went inside and stood there for a while. A waiter finally... More

This is a great place to go if you love Americanized Italian food. Most of the items on the menu you would never see in Italy including the tri-colored tortellini that looked like it came from Costco. My husband ordered the Bolognese. It had a very weird spice (or spices) in it that did not taste Italian. Sorta tasted like... More

One of my favorites in the area. I had the veal Christiana. The sauce was great, some of the veal was a bit chewy. The tiramisu is homemade and excellent. I ordered glasses of Pinot Grigio and chianti both of which were a bit stale. Might be better to order a bottle.

My family and I decided to eat at this restaurant early on a Saturday evening. Our first hint should have been walking in to a mostly empty restaurant. As you can guess, our experience was not the greatest. First, let's start with the bread. I do not know what other reviewers are referencing, but we did not have great baked... More

My sister and I went to Café Italia for a light dinner before our theater performance at Ford's Theater. When looking at the wine list, I couldn't decide which red wine to order. So, the server brought out a sample of three reds for me to choose from. I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased! In addition to the wine,... More

This is not a dress up place. The decor is nothing to write home about, but the food, prices and service more than made up for it. There were 10 of us, and they gave us separate checks broken down however you wanted. The food was good and filling. If you are taking a shuttle from your hotel, ask them... More

My husband loves Italian food, so we visited during our vacation in DC. The bread is homemade, tasty and filling. I enjoyed the pizza puttanesca with artichokes, capers and black olives. My husband had the FBI which included: a large meatball, a piece of Italian sausage and lasagna. He pronounced it delicious! Service was experienced, yet friendly.
